Hi everyone!!

Im new to this message board stuff....

This is my 2nd cluster attack in 2 years my first one was in 2000 and it lasted for the 4-8 weeks.

But this time around it started in June and i have had 2 to 3 times a day everyday and i even had to take off work they were so bad. Im back to work again because i thought the headache ran its course of the 8th week and was pain free for 6 days.

Now they have returned only at night around 2-3am in the morning.

I guess what i want to know is since i had my 8 weeks and then 6 days ok and now back does this mean i will be starting another 8 weeks of hell!!???

Hard to tell your cycle might not be over just yet.  I sometimes get breaks in mine for a few days then back at it and then they taper off and go away for awhile.   I guess ???? only time will tell.

I doubt it DVS3. I'm episodic and get cycles every year. Sometimes the CH's go away for a few days then return. When they do return, it's usually just letting you know the Beast is pissed because it's almost over. Not saying it can't happen, but i've never had back to back cycles. Only a week or so of return visits from the Beast. I'm sure your cycle is ending. Just hang tough. Things will get better.

Read the info and threads on Melatonin.

It really helps w/the nighttime hits !!

It's cheap and you can buy OTC.   I started w/ 3 mg.  Up to 6 now.....but it works for alot of folks here.

Good luck......PF vibes,

Yup, I'll tend to have things build up... for the first while only one or two attacks per day, sometimes skipping a day... then  get destroyed for several weeks... then have a similar trickling away as the cycle ends. I only feel like I'm sure the cycle is over after I've been without any attacks or even shadows for maybe 4 days.

So, as others have said, your cycle is probably ending but hitting you sporadically on the way out.

Welcome and sorry you have to deal with this horror.
Mine were episodic and now and then showed up when not expected. While I could depend on them in fall and spring, now and then they popped in for a visit in July or August for a week and then disappeared until fall.

They can be erratic.

Stick around and you'll find lots of support and some good ideas for dealing with the beast.

Let us know how you're doing.

Welcome to the website.  Sorry you had a reason to seek us out, but glad you found us.  Lots of good info in the links to the left and in the posts.  People here will be glad to answer questions and help as they are able.

If you're only getting hit at night, I'd ditto Jean's thought on the Melatonin. Lots of people take it with good results.

Read, Read, Read.  Knowledge is your best weapon against the beast.  Don't expect your doctors to know everything or even anything.  You may have to print out some the info available here and take it to your doc.

Again, welcome to our little corner of the net.

Welcome to the asylum. Yes, we are all flat-out insane. You don't have to be insane to have cluster headaches, but it helps.  Grin Hang in there, keep fighting, and keep winning, my friend.
