Have my Dr Apt next thursday with my GP, and after battling with the stupid *&%*^)P(*&%()(*(*^&$*&^&*(_P IL public Aid system, I FINALLY arranged a ride as well. Only took an hour to give them all the fricken information, and from what I gather - I have to do this everytime I set up a ride. They also have to authorize it and determine if it is medically necessary for me to see the doctor. I have a question: Isn't it the DOCTOR'S who are supposed to decide when you need to see them again and NOT THE STATES? Not to mention, I only got hung up on 3 times because they are having troubles with thier system. Another question: Doesn't the STATE have enough funds to buy these bastards a COMPUTER that STORES information so you don't have to repeat it everytime you call? "The system is in place for the benefit of the general public." I could go on and on, but right now I am trying to keep the room from moving.... STILL NO SLEEP! Carl P.S. - Tried to call the neuro AGAIN and they were closed AGAIN today. So, have to call them again tomorrow. I swear everytime I call they are closed or out to lunch.

The Effects of Sleep Deprivation on Brain and Behavior Quote:One of the possible side effects of a continued lack of sleep is death. Usually this is the result of the fact that the immune system is weakened without sleep. The number of white blood cells within the body decreases, as does the activity of the remaining white blood cells. The body also decreases the amount of growth hormone produced. The ability of the body to metabolize sugar declines, turning sugar into fat. One study stated that people who sleep less than four hours per night are three times more likely to die within the next six years. Although the longest a human has remained awake was eleven days rats that are continually deprived of sleep die within two to five weeks, generally due to their severely weakened immune system. |

Thanks for the link Dan. Been wondering if this insomnia shit could kill me. Unfortunately, even when I lie down I don't rest. I have restless legs that twitch, kick, etc. No wonder my legs are hurting. I wonder also if the sleep deprivation is causing the low testosterone levels too (before you say anything... DON'T!) It was funny in Nashville. After I started getting hit at the hotel bar, I went upstairs, shot Trex, and layed down on my stomache to avoid getting sick (Trex makes me nauseate BIGTIME!) Bob (Alleyoop) said when he came in the room, I was obviously asleep, but he said I was kicking alot. He thought I was chasing somebody. I had one night's sleep (saturday) since waking up last Wednesday morning. Maybe that is why I feel like shit and the room keeps moving. Thought we was having an earthquake for a moment there. Going to Walgreeds to get more Remeron and Flexeril in a bit. HOPING the Flexeril/Zanaflex combo will ease the legs a bit so I can sleep. Dead Man Waking, Carl
