Had to finally break down and take some time off from work. Woke up after four HA's last night. Three before bed and of course the nightly visit from our enemy. GD how I FUCKING hate this! My life is on hold and I don't dare go out and sociallize with out the beast coming to find me. UGH!!!! I can't even talk to anyone about this except my wife or my fellow clusterheads which pisses me off even more. If I have hear one more dumbass tell me it's "just" a headache, I think I'll tell them how would they like a couple of hundred roundhouse kicks upside of their fucking head! Then tell me how that feels. It's bad enough to have to deal with this shit, but then to have some condensending jackass trivialize it is absolutely infuriating.
ok, I feel better now...a little anyway..

Another thing you could do to an idiot is, kick them as hard as you can in the balls and then say "Does that tickle? Okay smartass, this is not a MERE headache."
Just make sure after you do it, that they are smaller than you, or you can run very fast.

Rant away, my friend. Speaking as one who lost his job because of this crap, I totally understand. I rarely venture out of my house anymore, except for the odd doctor's apointment and to occassionally work in my wood shop. Just about the time I feel froggy enough to jump the beast drops another brick on my head.

Rant away -- I DO KNOW how you feel. And so does everyone here. That's what we're here for.
Yesterday I spent the day at work fighting headaches (3 or 4 - I lose count). Then last night I got a call from someone worse off than me, so I spent a couple of hours being a supporter. Both SUCK!!!
I don't know what to tell you about PEOPLE! They just don't have a clue and won't. "Oh is like a migraine?" is one of my favorites... I tell them yeah, if ya wanna compare a goldfish to a shark! "can't you take something?" Today one of my clients suggested Rosehips Tea. Ok so I'm just stupid enough to try it as soon as I can get to the store. At this point - it can't hurt. Just make sure there's frozen peas in the freezer....
Might as well laugh at yourself -- it makes it a little easier to take.

Barb,
I really used to enjoy getting out and working outside and traveling, etc. Unfortunately, I inherited photosensitivity from the beast. I'm one of those few for whom light/glare triggers attacks. Even with sunglasses that have UV protection and polarized lenses, the glare from bright lights can burn like a laser right into my right eye. Every 2 hour trip (except for one that it was overcast and rainy) I have made to Tulsa to see my neuro has resulted in my having to pull over to deal with an attack. Almost every time I go shopping, something about the lighting or the glare from it causes me to get hit to one degree or another. I am just trying to avoid situations where I am likely to get hit when I can.
Even looking at televisions and computer monitors for more than about 30 minutes can trigger one. I haven't sat through an entire television show since I don't remember when. I can only participate here is because my internet connection is so slow that I click a link and go do something else until the page loads. Then I read the page and click to go to the next one and go do something else. And so on and so forth. There are some days that I can't get on the computer at all. I have tried adjusting the refresh rate of my monitor up very high, even sitting at the computer with my sunglasses on.
Is it all excuses? Maybe. Maybe I have just given up trying to live a normal life. I just get tired of getting attacked every time I leave the house. I do know that it is only because of my family at home AND the people of this website that I am even alive. The caring and support that this ch.com family gives is literally life saving. I am proud to and will continue to risk the severe pain to associate with all of you.
