Season's End

Season's End

Meeting here in this place
On a night like tonight beside
The raging sea
Highway shouting down from
Above like a roaring, idiot god...

Your face illuminated
By dumb headlights,
Pale and ugly
With sorrow-smeared make-up

No words left for us, my Love,
Not one...

Wind tearing your hair
Ripping the saw-grass beneath our feet,
Hurling trash left by tourists long gone

Meeting here in this place
Tonight, the last night,
Weary, crushed, and bleak,
In the rags of faith

No words left for us, my Love,
Not one...

In the end, we stumble home through
A cold world, numb with pain, broken like
Dolls, to lie on a hard bed

Gazing silently, desperately at the ceiling,
Waiting all night for something to happen,
While blaring bullhorns broadcast the
End of the world through empty streets

No words left for us, my Love,
No words at all...

Thanks! It was written towards the end of a mutually destructive relationship. Head says, "Get the fuck outta' here!" and heart says, "But I love her!!" Given the choice betweeen doing that again or shoving my arm in a garbage disposal, I'd take the second option.  Cry

I think we should all get together and do a movie..."Night of The Clusterheads". George Romero would have nothing on us!!!

Similiar circumstances inspired me to write this poem.

Undying Love.

And she asked, "Would you die for me?"

"My love" I replied

"I would climb the tallest mountain and swim the deepest sea;
And as day givest to night, so shall I my life for thee."

"Good." She said.

As she pulled...

    ...the stained dagger...

            ...from my heart!

Yeah, Luke; Deep pain... Getting out of it was something akin to tearing out my heart and feeding it to a pack of hyenas.

Visceral piece, Carl. Good job.
