Accupunture has worked miricales for me..it has stopped all my series DEAD in its tracks in no more then 1- 3 treatments...normally it takes a 24 hour peroid to kick in its healing effects,,.it has been used to help the body in countless ways ,,it has been used for 5,000 plus years,it has even been used in eliminating the need for anostesiolgist in open heart surgury as i saw on tv by chance once,, ,find one,, my first one was a doctor for 40 years,,then she went back to relearn the art in main land china,,shes passed now,,but always told me to find one that is a MD. i was extreamly skeptical when i was 19 and felt my life had ended when i was told to try it..and i still have to realize how forntunate i was to find out about it,,it seems i get a case of denial..with my clusters as in this new series,,often as now i wait for 2 weeks of my brain feeling like road kill to go for the treatments..i hope this helps,

I used to have these shooting pains in my rectal area, but after using an industrial nail gun to shoot galvanized roofing nails into the area around my anus, I've been pain-free for months! It's a fucking miracle!!

Dude. I am not saying anything good or bad about acupuncture. I have never heard anything positive about it where cluster headaches is concerned, but if something works for you, more power to you.

Please don't laugh...
Before I was diagnosed with CH, I was in a bad cycle and was thinking of "acupuncturing" myself with a .38 when a friend recommended I try acupuncture.
So off I went. This guy (really cool, asked me more questions than most docs I had seen) gave me a first treatment. I think this guy really knew his stuff. Wow! I had two pain free days before getting hit again, then went for 4-5 more treatments with no success.
So, I am like Gator, I don't want to bash on acupuncture but it failed for me. I still love chinese food though....
But now I prefer to do my own acupuncture with an Imitrex shot. Now that works!

Zounds! I learn something every decade. To think that for 5,000 years, acupuncturists have been loath to share such wonders until they met caught you.
Acupuncture always gets to me. I mean, what ever possessed the first person to come up with: "Hey! Here's an idea, lets stick sharpened objects in what's left of your leg to see if that won't kill the pain!" The same goes for the first dope who thought that eating snot from an oyster might be a culinary treat.
Acupuncture for clusters: Like trying to knock out an elephant with a peanut.

Greg, we all do what we gotta do. Acupuncture as treatment for cluster headaches has a high failure rate as i'm sure you've managed to summise after you've waded through the haze.
