Outside Out of the barwomb and into stark moonlight My shadow stretches before me like the sum of my every sin Dirt road lands my following feet by the stony temple courtyard and its taciturn cemetery of restless bones. Shuffle home and collapse into velvet sleep only to awaken in ice-clear lucidity. Detachedly bemused, my star body wavers like smoke, and smiling softly, I am buoyed into the August nightsky. -F. H.
