The Concertina Song

Coils and coils of concertina
Singing serpents of nightmare pain
Spring sling slash inside my head
Can't bear to go through this again

Lacerate my eye
O God just wanna die
Smash my head against the floor
To (God please!) sleep forever more

Trainwreck in my brain
Writhing burrow into the ground
Eye all shot with blood again
Scream so hard that there's no sound

Bash my brains all out
Lament wail and shout
Pillowcase stained with tears
All the hellish tortured years

And I would give my life
For just one pair of compassionate eyes
Yes I would give my very life for just one word
I would give my life to see an understanding face
Instead of feeling like I'm spinning into outer space...

Coils and coils of concertina
Singing serpents of nightmare pain
Spring sling slash inside my head
Can't bear to go through this again

Lacerate my eye
O God just wanna die
Smash my head against the floor
To (God please!) sleep forever more

If I were to set it to music, it would be set to grinding guitars, with the power chords, bassline, and drums neck and neck, like something by Sisters Of Mercy. The bridge, "I would give my life...." would be done with solo piano and mellow 7th chords, perhaps, and it would pitch into the grind again, maybe round out the bridge one more time and fade...

Thanks, Steve. Smiley There are some things I'd like to tweak yet, but yeah, I could probably dance to it. (spastically...)  laugh
