stupid question but need help w/project

Hi all This is going to sound like a really stupid request! For my intro to nursing class, I have to make this thing called a "Who Are You" box. ( I know, this is a second degree bachelor's program...not 2nd grade!) Well anyhow, the outside of the box is supposed to be decorated with how other people see me, and the inside of the box is supposed to be decorated with who I really am. So far I have an idea for one thing on the outside and one thing on the inside! LOL I need some help (with the outside part, of course). Any suggestions? Thanks! Carrie/Lizzie2

Let's see now, I'm supposed to tell you how I see you. A little girl with pig tails, ice skating and making some kind of figure in the ice. Is that a mushroom or a phalic symbol? Seriously, from what little I saw of you at the convention and have gotten to know of you from these boards, you are a beautiful young lady whom is very passionate about whatever she decides to take on. Out of the most caring and giving group of people I've ever known, you stand out as one of the most compasionate. Hope that helps.................................. ....................................................alley

Even though I have never met you...but have corresponded with you on this MB...I see you as tough yet caring. Someone who decides on Nursing as a career must be tough as nails to deal with the different circumstances that lead one to come under the care of a nurse...and to help people cope with those circumstances...yet caring enough to help complete strangers with their maladies. Don't forget the tenacity to deal with the "bumps in the road" of your education. Also as a musician, you're artistic freedom needs to be shown in this assignment. I hope this helped in any way. I see you as a friendly hand that is always waving HI, or reaching out to help someone, but one that is never afraid to beckon for help when it is needed. I hope you can draw hands. So what goes inside the box? or don't we want to know, LOL. Opus/Paul

Awwww thanks you guys!! Honestly, this does help. And this is not a ploy to boost my ego or anything!! Luv you guys And Paul, haven't entirely decided what goes in the box, but one thing is a large picture of the CH Smiley that ckelly designed. CH is a really big part of who I am...and all you guys are what helped turn it from a nightmare to something I know I can handle.

How's THAT for an image huh? Rock on PowerGirl Pep damnit... edited for spelling

And don't forget the lump of sugar -- (or sweet 'n low for those of us who don't do sugar too well) How big is this box? Go to your OUCH survival kit... there's some ideas there also. The lifesavers for those who see you as their lifeline supporter. The paper clip for the way to hold things together, etc. Hey are we gettin' graded on this one???? Hugs BD

This conversation could turn really nasty... "Hey! Nice box!" "How big is your box?" "That's really a cute box!" er... I sorry. I'll go now.

Finished product.... And here's the writeup I did on it! Quote:I asked a very close group of friends how they view me so that I could design the outside of my box. One of the recommendations I was given was to use the OUCH survival kit contents and place it on the outside of the box because it represents what I stand for and why I am in nursing. Another friend told me to add a huge smiley face. A couple friends described me as ?tough as nails.? Many people see me as a musician and former Penn State student. I am also seen as a figure skater and a pianist, hence the two pictures on either side of the box. The deepest part of the inside of the box represents those things which cause me the most pain and those which represent my strength in dealing with this pain. The smiley face remains but now with oxygen mask and syringe representing the pain of cluster headaches. My own medical supplies for injections are included. The Charlie Brown sticker represents my most basic feelings about my pain and also the fact that sometimes I feel a lot like Charlie Brown! The cactus represents being able to thrive where many could not, and yet it still has the beauty and fragility of a flower representing the weakness that exists despite the strength. The nails once again represent my inner core of strength in fighting my daily battles with pain. On the sides of the box (inside) I have skating and music represented again. This time, the skating picture is more free because skating to me is a release and one place where I find freedom from all of life?s struggles. Inside the lid of my box I have a program from my piano recital. This was my greatest accomplishment of my undergraduate career. I also have photos of my family and dog, who I hold very close to my heart. I have a photo of Stone Harbor, NJ and of Sarasota, FL where I enjoy going on vacation. Creating my box helped me to realize all the different ways that people see me and how I really feel about who I am. |
| Thanks for the help!!! Finally time for bed...I actually did a project earlier than the morning of it being due! Woohoo! Hugz, Carrie[img][/img]

God damnit, Carrie/Lizzie/et.al..........if that project earns you a degree, you sure as hell ain't hunting up any of my precious veins for a needle implant. Shoulda covered the outside with condoms, the inside with tampons, and let the instructor decide whether it was art or trash. Pass the leeches, RJ
