Nah, that's just one part of you, like your skin. You can hate the pain. Never allow it to hate the person it makes of you.
You can also allow clusters to change the type of human you are, from or to, being someone that people can love, trust and respect. OTOH, you can also allow them to change you into someone even you wouldn't bring home to mother.

Turts...I have a lot of friends....they have much in common. I love them all. They are smart, sincere, funny as all get out, and I enjoy chatting with them all! It was particularly nice gathering with a bunch of them in Nashville....quite nice, in fact...except some of these great, funny smart caring people experienced some extreme excrutiating pain.............ohhh, I just hate it when that happens! I feel so useless to my friends..I can only sit by and wait it out...... 
It seems to me when I feel the worst, one of my friends reminds me that life is a about the times they are pain-free.........never about the pain. This group of people gathered to enjoy each other.. not to ruminate over their intelligence, or the pain.
Did I mention? All these people happen to have something in common...they are clusterheads........it is a part of them, but it is not what I see...not any more. MY friends have shown me their creative, emotional, intelligent sides....and my heavens.. you would NOT believe what these people are capable of!
I hate that you suffer, Turts...and Paul...and Pink and Tim..I hate that Clusters are in your life...but I wouldnt change you for the world...EXCEPT..I would give anythin g to stop the pain!
YOU are not the pain, the anticipation that CH inflicts... you are the PERSON...and that person exists regardles of what the beast deals out ..now, if only we can find something that would really truly send the beast off, once and for all...........
Hmmm, did any of this make sense to anyone but me?

It actually was a big part in who I became after 8 years of it, but I hope it was in a good way. It caused me to become more empathic when I see others sick or in pain. It's been such a profound experience, that I can't minimize the impact it's had on me.
I also agree that it is something to rise above....

I have had these since I was 10 yrs old and I hate it. It has brought me more than just physical pain, it has caused lots and lots of other problems.
But, I really want to know why Cathi is drinking Sangria this early?

I hate the fact that my CH family hurts and there is not a DAMN thing I can do to help. Im not a CHers myself but I love someone who is and its down right SUCKS. I feel for ya Turts, and you are NOT alone hun.

Paul...not trying to diminish the years you have dealt with CH....I just want you to know that I see far more than a sufferer...in you, and many others...
and, as has been said...I hate what CH causes you....the pain is PRIMARY....along with the person.......
I hate the beast...........
