They say a picture is worth a thousand words. For me, just one moment in Nashville was worth ten thousand words. Within minutes of arrival I was meetin people for the very first time that I have known for years. Words will fail to capture what I want to say here I am certain. Every conversation, every hug, every smile, every tear, every laugh, every "ROCK AND ROLL" Jonny shouted, is etched onto my heart forever. I am so in awe of you people. Just being with you guys made me forget the pain. It made me forget how much I have suffered. It also made me realize just how close this family really is, and how much love and light has come from such a dark and dreadful malady. I am overwhelmed. During the seminar, learning about the new C.H.A.T. software, and how much Dan, Svenn and Zaira have invested in us, Thomas stood up and told everyone how blown away he was by everything that is going on, and how much has been invested in us. That alone started to make my eyes leak a little. Then, when I saw Linda Howell get up from her table with the terror in her face as she was getting hit, I lost it. At that exact moment, seeing Linda in that state, my heart broke for everyone there. It boggled my mind that so many wonderful people have to go through so much torture. And then there was the conversations and revelations. At the bar, out on the patio. Every moment was golden. I remember how miserable I felt when I came out of my room yesterday morning after having been awakened 3 times by the beast, and after the 7am attack, coming down to the pation and chatting with Frank, Luke, Steve, Mike, Jimi, Tim W... I quickly forgot my bad morning, and the fact I was shadowing hard barely mattered. So many of you said so many things to me that mean so much. I feel closer to you guys than I do to alot of my friends I have known for years. The only way I can sum it all up is: When I first came back to the CHMB after being offline for awhile, I remember there was a post that had a link to Bob P's CHead pic page. Zaira had replied "We are simply beautiful." And you know, every single one of you are!!! Now if I can just get rid of that mental picture of Chuck in the pink thong! LMMFAO! I love you all, Carl D

damnit, Carl - you choked me up, man. You, of all people - I am SO freakin happy for you that you FINALLY got there. That you FINALLY got to experience what so many of us already have. It really is an indescribable feeling but you've done an awesome job of it (as usual). Bask in it, friend - the feeling will stay with you forever. However, be forewarned that you will go through post-convention blues and an addiction for future conventions. There is no treatment for that addiction, other than re-attendance. I'm very proud of you for making this happen this year, Carl - you needed this. BIG hugs.

Thanks Jean. It was a pleasure to meet you as well. You are a first class lady, and am already looking forward to DavCon '05 (I can see Woobie's drooling big eyed dog asking "Are We There Yet?" Margi, I have an addictive personality already. LOL. I told Jonny that after being there in Nashville, I can never miss another convention. I plan on going to the Davenport, IA meet and greet in January. I regrettably missed the first one, but am planning ahead for it this time. I do hope you and Mike are needing a fix and will be at the next convention, or maybe even DavCon '05; or who knows where this fool might be willing to travel to hang with family. Peace, Carl D

Last year was the first time I saw someone get hit and it was Linda. What a true horror this is and seeing what is does to good people. You're right Carl and it was great having a beer or two with you at that strange bar.....damn thing closes at midnight. Weird Charlie
