Convention departure information....

If anyone is still in Nashville and gets to the airport, they can still visit with Dave E. He left the hotel at 6am this morning and still has not gotten out of the airport. Thanks to Jean, Cat, LindaLou, and Carrie for keeping him company for awhile... they are all gone now and still he sits... latest word is that he may get out at 8:15. This has been a trip from hell for him... who had to be severely talked in to even getting on an airplane... I know I'll never convince him again.

Needless to say...Cat and I were shocked to see Dave STILL at the airport, when we arrived for our flights home.
Cat left at 4:30....and when I left at 5:30, DJ's Mom, Linda, stayed with Dave till her flight left at 6:55.
Dave had not eaten all day.....was afraid he would miss a flight, so he stayed close by.
I didn't have time to make sure Dave ate, so Linda said she would make sure he got something to eat before she left.
Thank you Linda, you are such a sweetheart!!!!
Annette is trying to check now, to see if Dave made the flight.....ANY FLIGHT !!!!
Damn, I shoulda bought him a ticket to Houston, and put him on a flight that was really gonna go to Denver!!!
What a snafu !!! Like Annette said.....this was definitely a flight from hell!!
Guess the moral to this story is not to fly United A/L !!
Sure hope he makes it home sometime soon!!
Annette, let us know......at least we still have some folks in Nashville. If he can't get a flight out, then hopefully he will call Tracey or DJ and get them to come get him. He needs some rest!!!

Bob Damnit, but this info sux big time. Would have gladly stayed, spoon fed the lad some thin gruel, and shoveled him on his way to the Big D. Had only we known.........
The Plane People were offering "2 round trip tickets, hotel fare of your choice overnight, round trip transportation, and dinner, per person" if 4 of us would give up our seats. Pig, Eyes, Oz and me did a quick visual survey and mentally voted NO. We were too torched to move, despite the potential windfall profit.........if that helps anybody that DIDN'T attend understand the depth of these secular festivities. It's a full time job being us.

Just heard from Annette that she is checking to see if Dave has gotten there yet or if he's still stuck somewhere!! I was also really surprised to see him!! Luke and BillyJ dropped me off at the airport, and I got through security and had just gotten something to eat. I sat down and I saw him, and I thought I was just seeing someone who looked similar. Unfortunately...Dave was still stuck there. 
My plane got delayed, and.....I'll finish that story in another post.
Was great talking to Dave, but dang I'm sorry that happened to him!!!! United.... they will be getting a few phone calls from us this week!!

Guess United just don't like flying west!!!!
I spoke to Annette on the phone.....bless her heart.
I know she's worried.
Hoping we can find out if he made a flight that left at 8:47. I'm gonna stay up till I hear from Annette again.

YAY!!!!!!!!! I'm so glad you got home, Dave!!!
Jean, It was great to meet you too! Dinner was fun ("Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh NOW I get it!!!" United just doesn't like flying anywhere...because i'm northeast of Nashville, and I still had problems!! Oh well....I'm home now and that's all that matters.
