Decadron (or a DEX PAK) is steriods. Works magic for me (temporarly). It is a 12 day steriod taper 'dose pack'.I've had Decadron IM and IV and Dex Paks before.
If Prednisone works for you - Decadron should also work.
Eat with this med or suffer stomach pain! Doc should've also prescribed something for your stomach like Nexium or Protonix. If not, you might wanna ask him/her for some (or buy a HUGE bottle of TUMS ! You're gonna need it)

Before I was diagnosed with clusters the doc used to give me a Decadron injection...and it usually worked!
Can remember feeling better within hours of walking out of the doctors office....in fact the first year I did NOT get an injection was the year I had my first full blown cycle....
I think it was a 10mg injection....not sure though.

thanks for the info. Decadron is more potent than prednisone, so i thought if the prednisone works maybe the decadron will work miracles. we'll see.

Watch your blood sugar. They gave this to my husband and his blood sugar shot up over 400. But the stuff worked (not for ch, but something else). Just keep an eye on your blood sugar.
