Thanks to Flounder & Giovanni

Flounder & Giovanni When you are the catalyst for helping someone literally change his or her life, in a most positive way, mere human expression of appreciation is woefully inadequate. So overwhelming has this experience been for me, that I cannot begin to express my emotion. Miapet and I have a ritual that began years ago; during pain free time we sit and discuss any issue, controversial or otherwise, with immunity from any retaliation for differences of opinion. Today she said something so profound, or I am, at last, finally healthy enough to hear someone with some hint of lucidity, immediately following my statement; “I cannot ‘ever’ remember feeling this good.” “Damn, Dxxx-boy you were a very sick man, Flounder and Giovani both knew this, as did many others.” Life is continuous change, when your life changes this way the new challenges are every bit as formidable as surviving that dark hole, the dungeon of the most sadistic torturer known to me. One in which I dwelled far to long, alone, making many mistakes that literally sucked me into an indescribable hell. I was the prey for both demon and physician, no matter how bad you are, how many muscles you have, you are the prey. The only way you escape the dungeon quagmire you are in would be for someone to intervene, unchaining you from the most horrendous realities of your situation. How do you possibly express your gratitude for anyone who is a part of the solution that set you free from this? I don’t know? Only thing I know with any certitude, “I do not have a gawd damn headache!” Trust comes hard after so many failures, for so long, emotional changes apparently take place, as well. A spiritual articulation comes to mind, to become reborn again, and to experience the tears of joy. No simple feat for any man held captive in this cluster headache dungeon for any length of time, let alone two decades! My thought processes were so blurry I can only remember vaguely asking Flounder to demonstrate to me his method of dealing with the onset of cluster headache. During our chat I had to excuse myself, oxygen bottle, when I returned, I knew he was one of us…I could not believe anything would work, but I knew I had to trust him, Miapet believed in him one hundred percent. And the journey begins; here I am, eight 8 weeks pain-free! Blood pressure 120s/70s (I promptly fired my General Practice Physician and entered the Univ. of Texas Health Science Physician Services) and now have the appropriate hypertensive medication for me. No matter what tomorrow brings, I owe today to some cluster busters and one very beautiful incredibly dedicated woman. Flounder and Giovani, I can never repay you, the both of you will be in my heart until the day I die. “There is a ‘Big Steak’ waiting for you! I am buying!” Thanks Guys…. Peace and Positive Energy D

Wow... What a fantastic post!! There's nothing like real family to get you thru the bad times. It is so very hard to try and find the right words one wants to say at times. However, D, you seemed to make it just fine! This post is like a breath of fresh air. Thank you, D and Mia......we all should be just as grateful as you. Giovanni & Flounder.....thank you....for helping a brother when he seemed to be at the end of his rope. Best wishes and lots of love to all of you, PF vibes, Jean

I know that there are some people who , due to the legality issues, are PF and cannot thank these folks who are "curing" Clusterheadaches. Walk in the sunshine with an umbrella. den

Thanks so much for your praise as it was highly appreciated and a humbling/emotional experience to read it. Perhaps your largest catalyst was Miapet who was bound and determined to help you—even if the method was controversial. I believe your success has been an inspiration/hope to others and places even more importance on the Harvard study. I too have found how traumatized I really was during this period of remission. One begins to realize that during pain free times. The people that helped me at the beginning were BillyJ, Not4, and Mast. I know that you’ll pass on your knowledge and experience when the opportunity arises. I sincerely hope that your remission will be indefinite with this treatment. BTW, I’m taking you up on the dinner invite as soon as possible. Pf, John
