KNOCK ON WOOD!

I'm really not superstitious, but when it comes to these HAs I'm sure you'll all understand...........
I've been afraid to post about this, but here goes. For those who aren't aware, I was diagnosed chronic about four years ago. The longest break I enjoyed in the last five or so years was ten days when I first started verapamil. My memory sucks but I think that was about two years ago. Anyway I won't go into a lot of detail here, but sufice it to say that as of 65 minutes ago, I just went THIRTEEN DAYS without a hit! Talk about a monkey off your shoulders!
Hey, I know it won't last but I just had to let everyone know. If I waited until after I got hit again to let ya'll know, it just wouldn't be the same. We'd just be hashing over the medications, and it'd just be a memory.
Instead of sticking to the dosages my neuro prescribed, I've been experimenting a little. But I didn't do it blindly. I went over and over these boards, reading and listening(and yea, throwing my two cents in here and there- but I can't help it, that's just me). If I get hit six times tomorrow, it's ok because I've tasted something wonderful.
Anyway, I just wanted to let ya'll know and THANK YOU!

More than happy to, Don. It's simple, really. The neuro had me on 1500 mg lithium daily. I had such bad hand tremor, I cut it back to 1200 one day, 900 the next, 12, 9,12, 9, etc. But what I think really did it was the verap. He had me taking only 480 mg daily. I learned from ya'll that wasn't enough. I went to 720 mg a day. I can't say for sure that any of this is it. But one of (what I feel is) my major triggers- stress- has certainly not been removed. I am under more of that now than ever!
I don't know for sure what it was. The last time I got hit (twice) was at a wedding I was in (not mine) June, 19. I may get clobbered today, but it sure has been nice!

Chronic for 20 years, enter mushies, PF 3 years, last bout lasted from E-Jan thru M-May. After about a month of the elivated verapamil and pain free I backed down to 480mg, also backed down lithium to 600mg. So far no breakthroughs but again added mushies to the mix.

I'm working on procuring some mushies, myself. Although illegal in my state(inc. spores), they grow wild all over the place. Being PF is wonderful, but it would be even better to toss the verap and lithium away! I hate what that stuff does to me!
Don't want to blow anyone's image, but I'd be willing to bet my last dollar that you and Jonny both are a couple of the nicest guys on the planet!
