Anyone familiar with this book?

It's called 'The Medifocus Guidebook on Cluster Headaches.' Here's the link: http://www.medifocus.com/cluster-headaches-guidebook.php?a=a&assoc=G oogle&keyword=clusterheadaches I couldn't find a copyright date. It does say updated 05/01/2004. I just don't want to pay for bad or outdated information. I'm aware that I can probably find just about anything I need to know about CH right here. I have had a few occasions where I found it necessary to explain to others what I am dealing with. I'm sure many of you who have been in this situation are familiar with the blank stares one gets when you mention cluster headaches. I thought a really good, accurate, up-to-date book(if there is such an animal) might help. If any of you have read or have knowledge of this book, I would appreciate any feedback you care to give. Thanks, Alley

Just a few comments/observations/questions. From the web site: ------------------------------------------------------------------------ " The complete Guidebook consists of the following four major topical areas: 1. The Intelligent Patient Overview. This Guidebook begins by providing you a detailed overview of Cluster Headaches including important information about: o the causes of this condition o common signs and symptoms o medical tests that are used to establish the diagnosis o standard treatments o available treatment options o promising new developments o quality of life issues o questions to ask your doctor " ------------------------------------------------------------------------ I did not know the medical experts had found a definitive cause of CH. This is news to me. Am I totally in the dark here? I KNOW there are theories, but have they actually found out what causes these mo-fo's?

| WOW! I completely missed that! Thanks for pointing that out KingOfPain. Certainly makes one wonder, doesn't it? Hhhmmmm Maybe I ought to send my neuro a copy since he told me they didn't know definitively what causes CH.

| I must be in the dark too. A cause? You mean like ummm, smoke? or alcohol? (oh right, these are triggers), Or have they found something in our genes? I think if this book was updated in May of this year, it is safe to say that at least one of us would have heard about finding a cause. Who has the link to the recent newspaper article that Luke was interviewed for about CH? It wasn't that long ago. Instead of handing people a book, maybe an article would help. In my opinion you would be much better off downloading info from here. At least you will know it's accurate. purpleydog
