Zomig Nasal Trials at NECH

The New England Center for Headache asked that I post this on the board. Please call them if you are in the area and in cycle.
June 22, 2004
We have received final approval and medications for the Cluster Nasal spray study and are ready to enroll patients. The New England Center for Headache located in Stamford, CT is now accepting calls and will start screening possible candidates. If you live within the CT/Metro area and would like to participate, please call Lori, Lisa or GeorgeAnn at 203-322-2748 Monday through Thursday.
You can either have chronic or episodic (please be in cycle) to enroll. You will be required to make 2 visits to our Center and will treat 3 cluster headaches.
So for more information call Lori, Lisa or GeorgeAnn at 203-322-2748.

Great job Roxy getting this all set up for us.

I'm going to see if they'll let me Kev. I'll have to fly in for the visits, and I'm not sure I can always fly in when they need me to. Going to have to talk this over with Lori.
But, if I can't.....it's really going to piss me off. We need this med listed as a ch treatment.

Met with Lori on the 30th..The trial is underway, I'm test subject #01. Had to fill out papers with Lori & answer some questions, than an EKG, then Dr. Volcy gave me a pretty thorough neurological exam. Then they gave me the nasal sprays & I was on my way. Took about an hour. Quick & painless. They need more people so please do whatever you can & try to call Lori.

Way to go Kev.....I'm so glad you've signed up. I owe you a big smack....(  this kind, not a  kind ).
I spoke with Dr. Ninan Mathew of the Houston Headache Clinic last week. The are signing people up for their trial beginning this week. If anyone is interested, call Paula at 713-528-1916 (they also have an office in Dallas, for those that are too far from Houston).

My neuro is at Spaulding Rehab Hospital in Boston. I think he mentioned that a Zomig trial was happening there also. Am I right? Did anyone hear this? Just wondering..... Thanks. Samantha

If in doubt, drop a note to Kev. He's a total racist sexist white male pig, but he speaks English and can give you a 25 words or less answer. We need to provide 20+ warm bodies for these trials (per testing site), or all is for naught. It has to do with shitting, or getting off of Pot......or some damned thing.

Lori reminded us at the convention that they still needed a good number of ch patients to sign up. She said the trial will be ongoing, as long as six months.
If you aren't in cycle now.....but will be in the next six months or so.....please call them.
We need to supply the people for this trial. Lets help OUCH all we can.

Sorry Tom, as far as I know the trials are in Connecticut, Philadelphia, Houston and Scottsdale AZ.
If you are interested and have the means to travel to one of these locations I would suggest you contact Lori Choyce to discuss your options.

Hi all,
I've just tried this... It is faster acting than Amerge, but still took half an hour to kick in, but then worked well. My new neuro has given me two trials o Imitrex, something everybody else said I couldn't take due to family history ofheart diease - she said there was really no differnece in risk - if I ahd taken Amerge and Zomig, there souldn;t be a problem with Imitrex. So, I'll let you know how the trex works when I try it....
