Weather or not this whole mess was a good idea or not has nothing to do with the fact that young men and women are over there dying everyday because they are American and they want to serve there country. Televising the be-heading of a tied and unarmed person only makes me want to drop "the big one" on them. I don't care how politically incorrect that sounds,that's how I feel. We have the ability to do it. I would push the button and accept the fact that millions of people would hate me for it for ever. That's how I feel right know....Man,if I had just one of those bastards tied-up in my basement right now.....it would take days for him to dye....My appologies for sounding so violent!

This, like the Germans bombing London has the opposite effect. They misread us. That they put it on TV is good in the long run. It will likely lessen the instances of this kind of behavior. By doing this on film, they only weaken their position. We aren't terrified; it makes us homicidal. Not very bright of them.
This is nothing new of course. The British lost thousands of men in the 20s in Iraq, to starvation and torture. The difference is TV. Back then by the time it got in the papers, it got filtered and no doubt cleaned up a bit for several reasons. Actually, these thugs may be a bit constricted because of media. In their own sick way they probably know they have to deal with the audience. It may slow them down. It's better.
Be careful praising with the Saudis. They are where most of these thugs come from. Like the rest of the world, we let them get away with murder all the time. Don't politicize the casket issue. It's Bush who is the one trying to hide them from us. The Seattle Times took a beating for publishing the truth.

My heart goes out to the Johnson family. I cannot imagine such a loss, especially publicized this way, but that is the nature of terror. They are attempting to strike fear into us to where we will withdraw, but they have forgotten or have never learned how we Americans react. Historically incidents like this only make us angry and stir us to do something.
I am so glad they got five of the ones involved, and hope they get the other two.

Ree.. you couldn't be speaking any plainer. For some reason I just had a feeling about the malls, I never go in them on the weekends anyway. Right now, its scary just to get on the subways - they make those "report anything suspicious" announcements now as we are riding pretty often. My MOM even has a cell phone now. Never thought I'd see the day. Yea call us paranoid.. OH WELL.
I'm so glad to hear Scott's ok, good Breezy didn't know either! Scott must have many angels watching over him!!

Along the shore just about 100 feet from us was 3 young people.......it was dark when they got there and set up and we had small trees and shrubs between us. Hey Ree.....what kinda malls are ya talkin bout...the big giante malls or any type small mall even the outlet types where ya walk from building to building outside ? Since were a college town we have alot of them Teliban types here.......and.......since this last incodent I am sorry to say I HATE EM ALL. (sad but true but I don't trust any of em....why should I ?)
