Who decides convention location?

I nominate Phoenix next year! Although July might not be the most comfortable of months to have it.... BUT, you can stay at world class resorts (all of us), with huge pools and/or even water parks for less than $100 per night! And with a convention we could probably bust the price down even more! Plenty of things to do.... Shitloads of golfcourses... Great shopping.... Major league sports.... It's very close to a whole lotta clusterheads.... And I guarantee it WILL NOT rain on our parade! Just a thought.... Or for you snow birds, a winter conference would be quite a treat for everyone. We could get someone from the mayo clinic to come speak perhaps? Or even better! We just all show up to the neuro/headache ward enmass and demand a cure!!!! Or sumthin.... What do you think?

You think you can handle planning a convention, Dude? Im dying to come back to Phoenix. ....................................jonny Edit: You should get in touch with Bonnie, Leesa, Cat, Elaine,or Jayne at least to see what it takes to get a convention done.

I always thought that this would be a good place and time for an OUCH convention: November 12-14, 2004 Scottsdale Headache Symposium Marriott's Camelback Inn Resort & Spa Scottsdale, Arizona For further information contact: American Headache Society (AHS) 19 Mantua Road Mount Royal, NJ 08061 856-423-0043 856-423-0082 fax ahshq@talley.com http://www.ahsnet.org I figure we could all put on our OUCH shirts and go hang with the head dudes.

| That's a great idea! Except rooms at the Camelback in Nov. probably start out at about $250... I may have to check that out for myself though, regardless! I filled out the form. I think PHX would be a great place to have it... It's just a matter of the lesser of 2 evils. Do you want the weather to be as beautiful as the accomodations are expensive, or hot deals for even hotter days? But the resort i reccomended has a 5 acre water park and it's really nice. I've stayed there and enjoyed it very much. And right now it's only $89 per night for the suites. Of course that's the single rat... it would be much cheaper as a group. Check it out... http://www.hilton.com/en/hi/hotels/index.jhtml?ctyhocn=PHXSPPR

Last time I was in Phoenix was 26 years ago in July. I was doing a cross country motorcyle trip. It was 112 degrees. I thought I was going to die that day. I looked like a cool aid pitcher. Why not San Diego? Temperature about 80 degrees in July......old town in downtown San Diego. Many places to go and excellent food. Do we have any clusterheads from that area? John

West coast is cooler .......if you go up north. I haven't been to the bay area since 1977. If you want a tourist trap, little beats San Francisco. Stay in Oakand, take the train, save bucks. I love it there. Maybe it's because Hitchcock movies and others create a kind of familiarity. Hate my friend for moving from Oakland to Portland. Can't sponge anymore. I had three crazy......and I mean bonkers.....great aunts that retired around Phoenix. Naturally, we heard the good, the bad and the ugly about the place. The one with the blue glasses who liked to tour cemeteries was the last to go so it's probably safe now. What a trip they were. Charlie

Don't be a bunch of puzzy's. The resort has waterslides and plenty of ac. It's not THAT bad if you are around water and shade or air conditioning in the day, and it's nice at night... It's not like we're gonna schedule a hiking trip! You'll be sourrounded by man made paradise for 90% of the whole stay. I guess it's up the the committe.... Has anyone officially nominated San Diego that can take on the arrangement reponsibilities? I'd go to San Diego if that's the decision.

| Don't know......Why do we insist on a place that's not that bad?.....which I interpret as barely liviable.... If you're talking about San Diego, that's a little different. Time for a Wisconsin con. Lots of goofy clusterheads live there Charlie
