Got hammered twice last Saturday. Once @ 7pm (1hr.) and again @ midnight (2.5 hrs.) Last Sunday (Nothing) Monday 10pm. (45 min.) Tuesday @ 4pm (1/2 hour) and 10 pm. (1hr.) Wednesday (Nothing) Last night 10 pm. (20 minutes) 10:45 (45 min.) 11:45 (1/2 hour) WTF? Luckily I've switched GP's and she also has another patient who has CH's so she is somewhat familiar with CH's and is not afraid to prescribe meds. or 02! Actually when I saw her on Monday she said do not hesitate to give her a call and she will get me whatever I need to kick the beasts ass! Actually after talking with her about it she said "It sounds like you know more about these things than I do" and was very receptive to what I had to say (Thanks to this site) which I did steer her to by the way. I think it's really cool that some doctors will actually listen to you and realize that you actually do know what you're talking about. She said she will check it out and is sure that she will learn alot from this site. I do have have a question maybe someone can answer. When I went to see her on Monday I went for a blood pressure concern (140/100 High). I monitor my BP on a daily basis and it has been high for the last 3 weeks. This has never been a problem before but I was wondering if anyone knows if your BP goes up before a cycle starts? The last two years my BP has been fine and now all of a sudden it's up. I don't get it. Coincidence maybe? Anyway, I gotta go get a pred. taper and hopefully stab the beast in HIS eye! Seeya, Jimbo

I get bouts like that. Wednesday was one hit right after another. Thursday only a couple shadows. Today - stronger shadows, probably will get a couple serious attacks. (of course it would happen the day I get to go pick up my granddaughter for the weekend) Wow, a doctor that listens. Hang onto her! My blood pressure is up just before, during and just after and attack. Other than that it stays between 110/60 and 120/70. Does your pressure stay that high all the time? What meds are you on? What are you using to check your pressure? Good luck on the pred. Gator

Gator, No my pressure is usually around 122/82 which is OK, but for the last 3 weeks it's been up and I'm not sure why. Stress maybe, being sued and all the rest of the shit that's going on. It's been up all the time, not just before/during/after a HA so I'm not sure what the hell is going on. I already take cartia 120mg. once a day as a preventative for the HA's so that's why she was kind of surprised that my BP was up. Actually it's never been a problem so I went to her because I didn't want to screw around and end up with a zipper in my chest in 10 years, so I figured I'd nip it in the bud. She put me on triameterine (water pill) for a while and told me to get more exercise and try to shed about 20 lbs. No problem if it will help the BP. I'm not as active as I used to be, so I guess exercise should be a good thing for me, actually I feel better allready so it must be working. I usually take my BP with a cuff and stethoscope. Thanks dude, Seeya

Nothing like a little stress and a lawsuit to get your pressure up. 140/100 is definitely up there on the diastolic. Anything over 150 systolic and 90 diastolic are considered high, but you know that. Sounds like your awesome doc is working the problem. Losing weight can't hurt, but it is not what you would call a quick fix. I'm not familiar with Cartia. Is it possible to temporarily up the dosage until the stressful situation is resolved?? Gator
