job interview tomorrow

Hey y'all, Tomorrow I've got an interview to get my job back in the ER. Last summer, I got the job through the temp agency run by the hospital and university, but this time I'm applying directly for this position. The shift open is the midnight to 7:30am every other weekend!! It really shouldn't be a problem to get the job, since I already worked it and know how to do it (though I'm definately going to need a refresher!), but I still could use a good thought on this one!! If I get this job, I'm one step closer to being able to go to the convention!! Hugz, Lizzie

| LOL I don't have class today, so I was staying up late enjoying the fact that I could sleep in. Of course, I'm trained to wake up no later than 7am, but I made myself try to sleep more until 9:30!! All I have today is the interview at 1pm. The past 3 weeks, we haven't had class on Friday, but next week we have our first day of Friday class from 9am to 4pm. A week from this Monday, we start clinical in the hospital!! Look out world. Quote:Refresher? What do you need to know. I caught an episode of "ER" when Buckeye Scooter was on. | LOL If I'm around, I watch ER twice a day! hehe How do you think I learned all the terminology?? Actually somebody did bring up an episode of ER yesterday in class...pretty funny. You guys are all so sweet!! The ER job is fun, but sometimes pretty tough!! Patients in the city are a different realm! I really like it, though. Lizzie

Mel, For a few reasons. For one, she told me that they interviewed somebody else who they really like. If it comes down to it, then she might pass on both our names to an even higher up supervisor for another interview. Also, I can only give a year committment because starting next May, I will be employed as an RN at the hospital there. Also, she asked me what the most difficult experience I had in the ER was...well honestly, it was when a patient did not want to speak with me because I am white and the patient got really mad at me, so I wound up getting my supervisor to talk to her, who is black. This stuff happens all the time there, but you just deal with it. It isn't really a big deal. It isn't saying that I'm racist...just that the situation is difficult sometimes when someone won't talk to you because of what you are, not who you are. So I'm sure that just didn't sound good. I hate being put on the spot to answer questions like that because I don't have time to really think about what I would say. Ah well...there's always a chance... It just didn't seem that good by the time I walked out of there.

If you did not get it... then there will be something else that you should be doing. The whole racist thing. I think you answered that very well. Hell you could have said a hundred other things that would have spoke worse aboutyou as an er employee... like the stress, the hours, the blood, whatever. If that was the most stressful thing that you could think of, then I think you you have your foot above a lot of people. I hope that the next thing comes soon for you, Carrie. -Tia
