The sun shot through #10 welding glass. Me thinks that bright ring around it is flames shooting off it. ...........................jonny

jonny, That shot of the sun brings back memories. I remember being able to watch a 3/4 eclipse through welding glass when I was a kid. We each a three second look, so we wouldn't damage any eyes. I looked a touch longer, it was amazing. I never saw anything like that and I couldn't believe it. Yeah, our sun, looks like lots of energy there. An actual star up close. How many in this galaxy or perhaps others gets that chance. We's verrrry......something.

| Hey Luke, http://www.coasterglobe.com/ Some rides that appeared in the late 1800s were quite similar to modern suspended coasters. Bisby's Spiral Airship at Long Beach California, for example, had cars that were held underneath a track and could swing freely. The cars travelled up a incline, and then descended a long helix around a tower before returning to the station. (picture above) **** **** **** **** **** **** **** The first modern suspended roller coaster actually appeared at Oktoberfest in 1975. Alpenflug (Alpine Flight), was built by the German aircraft company Messerschmitt. It ran trains of six cars, each car holding four people. The cars swung out as much as 80° during the course of the ride. Unfortunately, it failed to meet government standards, and was dismantled and destroyed after only 16 days in operation.
