Jimbo's beast. Just in time for summer, that rotten fucker. No warning, no shadows, no nothing. Just a midnight wake-up call. My heart goes out to everyone who has to deal with this shit everyday, actually it goes out to anyone who has had even one of these things. One thing is weird though, as I get older (41) the frequency is less than it used to be, but the length of the HA is getting longer. Usually about an hour or so but the one last night was 2.5 hrs. same as they were last time I was in cycle WTF? Anyone else experience this? Seeya, Jimbo

Damn. Sucks big time. As I got older they were less frequent but they rarely varied in length. 20-25 minutes. By the time they began to go away, they were getting kinda rare. I can only hope everybody has the same experience. Charlie

Damn.... That sucks. Hopefully, this cycle will be short-lived and the least intense. Hang in there.

Sorry to hear about your wake up call from the beast. The duration increasing kind of negates the frequency decrease. Hopefully this is just the last act of defiance for the beast in you and he won't be back. Gator Sending Pain Free prayers and vibes to you.

Welcome back jim, the door is always open. Sorry the Beast visited though, and here I thought I was keeping him occupied enough that he would not need new playmates. Vibes headed your way. May the cycle go by quickly for you. PF Wishes -Tia

Sorry 'bout that Jimbo. It is a strange beast indeed. I'll be 65 next movth and the longest pf period I had started on the last day of Atl Con in 01 and ended last Jan. mid month. O2 was working well but then, on my docs advice, I quit drinking. That must have really pissed off the beast; instead of 2 to 3 6s/nite, 2 1/2 hrs after falling asleep, it got to 7 to 10/nite, 8s to 10s and the O2 was not working. Damn, I hate 10s. So I got a jug of gin, had 3 martinis and slept the nite thru. That was mid March and I've been pf since. I do not recommend alcohol for any clusterhead tho, it's just an example of how different the beast can be. Kip

I used to get them every 4 years like clockwork since my late teens. I didn't know what they were until I went to a neuro at the age of 26 the four year cycle went on until I was 34, then I got a break until I hit 42. Anyway they seem to last longer in months for me every time I get them and seem stronger. Maybe it's my bad memory as far as the pain goes. The last cycle seemed like the worst ever. Maybe someone can help me on this one. BTW I always get them in the fall. Last fall I should have been pain free but I would get this HA behind my eye and it went around to the back of my head to my neck. It wasn't as painful as a cluster but it would last 2-3 days go away and come back. This lasted for about 2-3 months. I don't know if I ever had a migrane before and it didn't follow the usual simptoms of a migrane. Any ideas? Tim
