Well, I went to the Doc today and told him what's going on. Apparently his office already faxed the referral to the Neuro, so now it is just a matter of getting ahold of the neuros office and setting up an appointment. He seems to think that it is a pinched nerve or group of nerves (You might be right Cootie.) He prescribed some Flexeril, Fedenol, and also, my labs show my testosterone level is low, and that could cause muscle weakness, so he prescribed Testin Gel. They also discovered my tricyclic level was too high, so they lowered the dose on my Amitrityline. I finally got a prescript for o2 that says on it "For cluster headaches" so the Respi-Link place better not give me the same ole shit they did the last time. I think he could see it in my face how much pain I am in, so he upped the Tramadol (instead of giving me something that might actually work to help with the pain - need a neuro for that.) Now my only hurdle is since I paid my bills and the Doc co-pay today, I am flat broke, so I have to try and scrape up the co-pay on my meds. Not to mention, if Medicaid doesn't cover the o2, that will also be coming out of pocket. I hate being financially pinned against a wall, but that's what happens being on a fixed income. He ordered an MRI for my back, which I go for Monday, to see if they can locate the problem nerve. Once they find that, they can give me pressure point injections for the pain. He also ordered physical therapy, 3 days a week for 4 weeks. If there is a co-pay on that, I'm screwed. Hopefully there isn't. I am waiting now for the State to approve two of my meds, so won't even be able to get those until this evening, hopefully. He also said the boost to my testosterone level might cut down on the number of cluster attacks I am getting - since I seem to be getting hit left and right. Still in alot of pain right now, and having a very hard time walking. But anyway, that's what's going on. I'm afraid if they don't find a resolution to this soon, the sheer pain alone will drive me mad. Going to take some Tramadol and try to lie down. I just hope I get my o2 later, and that it will work to abort some attacks. Wish me luck, and vibes are appreciated. Peace, Carl D

Carl I am glad that you got seen. If Medicaid does not cover the O2 then really look into the welders O2. From everyting everyone says it is amazing cheaper then having to pay for the med version. I undersatnd about the doc visits and such. The doc I'm supposed to see on Monday I am trying to decide if I should cancel or not cause money is tight. It is hard to have to live that way. And the pain makes it that much harder to deal with knowing that if you have the money then you could take somethign that might help. Been there and doing that right now. Take it a day, hell an hour at a time. You will get through this. And anytime you need to vent then we are here to listen. PF Vibes and strength coming your way. -Tia

Hey Carl.........GLAD you got into the docs ! What area of your spine are they goin to do the MRI on.......did the doc say ? Just havein my neck done was about a half hour........and very very VERY strange ordeal I thought but a good thing at the same time. My insurence co said they'd cover some of it.....doc said jus the one I had will run about $ 1,200.00.....holy crap. You mite have some arthritis or DDD (degenertive disc) goin on.......or herniated. Took me several weeks to hear my results of the MRI and then I never have made it back to the docs to talk to him about it yet. So you'll prolly have to wait for physical theropy planning till that's all in so they know what you need to do or not do. I gotta keep movein all the time cuz sittin around seems to cause more pain.......esp to get movein after settin around. So hang in there....yer on the rite road now !!!! Hopein ya get some releif fast here............keep up the good work. Bend over and say OUCH Pam
