Any of you hockey fans see this movie? I saw it tonight for the first time. Good one! Can't say I remember the actual game since I wasn't even in the womb till at least a month or two after that! LMAO

I remember the game at a time when it provided a tremendous morale boost for all Americans. You couldn't ask for better timing. For years it was a tremendous accomplishment. On level with beating the Russians to the moon for American spirit. Nobody was immune from its affect, no one could help feeling the uplifting feeling it brought to hundreds of milliions of Americans. At that time and especially in the sport of hockey, it was incredible because we used non professional players at that time against the best professional players in Russia, if I remember right. Bobby Fisher beating Boris Spasky was also a notable conquest. Glad the movie captured some of the real feelings of the time for you, so that you could share in what it was like to experience it. It was riveting with a miraculous, inspiring result. Emotional huh? Yes, it was. Kevin M

Yeah you guys should have seen my parents watching it with me and my little brother last night!! My dad was like jumping out of his seat cheering!! My mom said, "Wow I remember hearing Al Michaels say that!" The only thing (and this wasn't related to the game) that they were thinking wasn't quite right was that didn't the gas rations happen in the early 70s? and not 79? Hell if I know, but my dad said they could only get 5 gallons of gas at a time. That would suck! But yeah, I absolutely loved the movie!! Sports movies are always some of my favorites. Still isn't gonna make it any easier for us figure skaters to share the ice with the hockey players, but it's a start.

| The actual Gas rationing happened in 1974. Here in Penna. You went depending on your numbers in your license plate. Every other day. And the lines were unbelievable...But the late 70's brought out the Trucker Gasoline riots...One of the biggest at Five Points in Levittown, Pa. I think it was in 1978. Jimmy

LOL Daffy!!! Yeah definately brought tears to my eyes too, and gave me chills!! My mom said she remembered watching all the games, but she didn't know all the details about how Herb Brooks ran the practices. Really quite a story!! My brother's soccer coach used to be just that insane with the drills, until kids would pass out or get sick. My brother played straight through college level soccer, but he had to quit last year due to injuries. He is going to be a senior this coming year. It is so amazing to think that those kids were so young when they won in the Olympics. I liked what he said at the end of the movie talking about using amateur athletes instead of a "dream team" of pro players. So true... Sure was a good one!

| I do remember long lines during the Carter years. Cars were still gas guzzling and it seemed a serious threat to wake up to the realization of having to import oil. I believe that was accurate. Kevin M Yeah, all three hairs on my chest were standing on end when we won that series.
