Sister of Sufferer

He made it through for 4&1/2 years. They started last
night-my heart dropped knowing how he suffers. He had a supply of 10 imitrex pills an took one which he
said helped by its only the beginning. Told him to make
sure he gets to the Dr for some serious drugs. He never
tried the oxygen and I want him to ask about that. Question? A few weeks ago he got terrible uncontrolable nose bleeds which the Dr said was allergies (OH LORD). He didn't tell the Dr his history.
Anyone ever start out this way with thier bout. He has
been suffering for about 35 years. He went a long time
this time - he usually gets them every 2 years. We were so hopeful they would not come back.

Hiya...welcome. Never got the nosebleeds..but I feel that could be allergy related...not out of the question. There is alot of info on here to the left side...read it all. I've been episodic for almost 25 years and this is the first year I discovered Oxygen..and what a terrific weapon in aborting the ha's. Definitely look into it. And when you go tio the doctors....be prepared...possibly even printing some pages off of here to take with you. Any questions...we're all here to help. Good Luck

Yes I know you are all there for each other. I found this
website 5 years ago when my brother had his headaches and it was so uplifting to know there is a support group. I found out and know more about what he suffers than he does. I know its a combination of drugs that help him,but he stayed too long on the predisone last time and had bad side effects (large weight gain and fingers locking up) But without drugs,
well its unbearable to see him suffer - I cry for him and
all who suffer this terrible affliction. Does the oxygen
help immediately and is that why people use it? Also
heard it was a less expensive treatment. Money is an
issue. Thanks and God Bless.

When money's an issue (or Not), go for O2. It's immediate, and "relatively" inexpensive. Wouldn't hurt to check out ClusterBusters.com, either. Two effective treatment methods, both at the bottom of the price list.

We've all been there and you'll find that oxygen helps and relatively fast for most of us. Lots of helpful stuff about usage, refills and the like here too.

I ain't gonna lead ya on and say that Oxygen is "garanteed" work for certain....but it works for most of us and its definately worth the effort.
Its better to try and fail than not try and wonder...that is garanteed.

For me, O2 will usually end an attack in less than 10 minutes and during those 10 minutes, it will hold the pain down to almost nothing. I believe it's also chaper than many of the drugs the doctors prescribe.

Tried the welder's O2 myself last cycle for the first time. I too can say that it didn't work for "every" hit....but by golly it sure was to get such quick relief for the ones it did work for.

You guys are all so great. Brother has promised me
he is making that appointment and I'm printing out all
of this stuff for him, especially all your responses to the
oxygen. I will keep you all posted. He lives in Florida
and I live in NY, so I am always calling him to keep tabs
and nag him about what needs to be done. I wish he
had a computer to check this all out for himself-NPT that
I don't want to do it, just so he would have it handy for
himself. God bless you all - you are all in my prayers.

Be careful mentioning the weilders O2 to some docs. Not all docs are willing to accept that it is the same stuff. But it is good that you are here. Finding a good doc that willing to listen and learn with your (or him) is a great help. So dont just settle for one doc.
