A little more Poetry
« on: May 21st, 2004, 6:08am »
Quote Quote Modify Modify

There's been a bit of poetry this week, here's a little more.

Love makes you see-
to find anew, the passion wild.
Love makes you blind-
to disregard the reason in your mind.

Love makes you laugh
at simple moments you have shared.
Love makes you cry
at times he showed he really cared.

Love makes you want
everything, and not resist.
Love makes you forget
the rest of the world even exists.

Love makes you look
toward the future bright.
Love makes you stay
in present times, so right.

Love makes you long
for just a gentle touch.
Love makes you fear
that it might be too much.

Love makes you think
is it really worth the trouble?
Love makes you believe
that anything is possible.

Signing off for the weekend, am gonna find myself some good lovin - it's Friday night, time to play. Love and PF days and nights to all.

Shipwrecked

The maelstrom has driven me
Beneath the sea to languidly drift through blind darkness
Buffeted by the smooth hides of whales
Scoured by coral
Tides and stars
Brine and decaying galleons
I come to rest on golden silt
Lung bubbles shimmering for the surface
Jeweled benedictions to the living

I smile and close my eyes in irenic repose.

I have seen some really nice and interesting poetry in some recent posts.

These are lyrics to a song by the band, The Smiths. The singer was/is Morrisey. He was sort of a depressive-type, but I was listening to an old cd of theirs and this song (lyrics) sort of made me think of how I am feeling.

Mainly this in response to comments that were made that I will always be alone. That I will die alone without a woman, which of course I don't want! Boy my ex-girlfriend in Chicago would be having a hoot with all this because, SHE WAS OVERWEIGHT. It was a big issue for her. Battling overweightness, depression, mania, or clusterheadaches....it is all the same.

Again these lyrics like a lot of Morrisseys were depressing, but I thought, again, it was representative how I feel sometime

I KNOW IT'S OVER (written by Morrisey)

Oh Mother, I can feel the soil falling over my head
And as I climb into an empty bed
Oh well. Enough said.
I know it's over - still I cling
I don't know where else I can go

Oh ... Oh Mother, I can feel the soil falling over my head
See, the sea wants to take me
The knife wants to cut me
Do you think you can help me ?
Sad veiled bride, please be happy
Handsome groom, give her room
Loud, loutish lover, treat her kindly
(Though she needs you
More than she loves you)
And I know it's over - still I cling
I don't know where else I can go
Over and over and over and over
Over and over.

I know it's over
And it never really began
But in my heart it was so real
And you even spoke to me, and said :
"If you're so funny
Then why are you on your own tonight ?
And if you're so clever
Then why are you on your own tonight ?
If you're so very entertaining
Then why are you on your own tonight ?
If you're so very good-looking
Why do you sleep alone tonight ?
I know ...
'Cause tonight is just like any other night
That's why you're on your own tonight
With your triumphs and your charms
While they're in each other's arms..."
It's so easy to laugh
It's so easy to hate
It takes strength to be gentle and kind
Over, over, over, over
It's so easy to laugh
It's so easy to hate
It takes guts to be gentle and kind
Over, over
Love is Natural and Real
But not for you, my love
Not tonight, my love
Love is Natural and Real
But not for such as you and I, my love
Oh Mother, I can feel the soil falling over my head
Oh Mother, I can feel the soil falling over my head
Oh Mother, I can feel the soil falling over my head

Scott,

If you want people to forget things you've said in the past, why do you find the need to keep bringing them up?

9erfan,

No worries dude. I thought it was a powerful poem. Poetry can be happy and positive, or it be otherwise thats all.

I feel better that after much decision and indecistion I could try to come back here again. Everybody deserves a second chance right? Just to think because I boo-hood about Jonny calling me a retard I started chaois! Please believe me, that was NOT my intention.

It is interesting because someone has posted today or yesterday on depression, which got a lot of replies. Depression is real and can be expressed in poetry.

I am happy, really, and I am more relaxed.

I don't want my posts to create 75 replies lol. It's cool man.

I feel good. Just thought I'd share a poem. Maybe somepeople feel like this. Maybe not.

9erfan is a woman, probably why she doesn't like the insulting talk about women.  My suggestion is that you just not bring up talk about fat women again, like ever.    Just trying to be constructive.

I said you are walking A minefield, not you are a WALKING minefield, one is an observation the other is an insult, do you see the difference?
