Over the last month I have had so much blood drawn, so many IV's that they can't FIND any veins left to put an IV in anymore. Took them TWO hours yesterday of missing before they called in anasthesthesiology and numbed my hand so they dig for a vein. Not sure how much blood I have left in me and I'm getting mighty tired of being hooked up to IV bags *sigh*.
If (huge vibes needed here) I have another TIA they are going to have to use my FEET for an IV. I look like the survivor of a wife abusers.
All's well, as well as as can be expected. I won't lie, I'm really down in the dumps depressed, and I'm still having problems with fine motor function, short and medium term memory loss and vision problems that they are attributing to the 'event' believed to be a possible TIA or seizure. More tests for me, my blood pressure is still really way out of kilter - freaked the nurse out when she did my orthostatics and my standing pressure was 92/84 she said those two numbers shouldn't be that close together hehe. Gotta keep em on their toes 
My spirits are high one minute, and I'm crying the next, the drug interactions seem to be the cause of it all, and unfortunately the zonegran was working, so I HATE to let it go- however blacking out, no short term memory, vision probs etc etc.....not much choice is there.

Have they considered trying a PICC line? I have no more veins, and they've attempted to put IVs in my feet numerous times, but it never worked out. The PICC line is always a decent alternative.

Yes I'm allowed to take calls now hehe. Clark had me under lock and key from anything to do with CH for awhile, but he's slowly loosening the reigns, besides I'm not sure he knows I'mposting this hehe

Now, the vein thing . . .PICC is a good option, but sometimes your veins are too shot for even that (experience with that one), but there is also the option of a Central Line (more experience). . . . it feels totally strange when they thread the cath .. . but it was not painful, and they didn't have to dig around or worry about it anymore. They had three options with the CL in place: 1 with the IV going, 1 capped that was always ready for blood draws, and 1 for just in case *g* it REALLY stopped a lot of pain, missed sticks, and solid bruises on my body .. . and now, if people don't know to look . . they don't see my vampire bite scar *g*

Talk to the doc about a PICC line like Lizzie said - it is a small, semi-permanent splinty thing that makes it easy and painless to draw blood. My brother had one when he was in the hospital, and he really appreciated it.

Once again thanks for all the well wishes folks. I was however completely wrong in my initial post of other places they could put IV's. I spent Fri. in the Docs office trying to find a vein to stick - 2 hours later and after calling anasthesia they got a vein. Sat. got all the symptoms back I am supposed to be watching for, so I call the nurse advice line - go to the nearest ER do not pass go do not collect $200 etc etc. (keep in mind they are watching me for a stroke now. In the ER they stuck me I don't know how many times, I don't remember the ER or being in it. Alll of this on top of the 4 occluded IV's I had when I was hospitalized for the ileus....
So today rolls around and I've got some serious pain going with the transverse colon and scared shitless (no puns please ) of another ileus, I call the nurse line, they say go right in. In we go to the base hospital. The staff at this hospital is very good as far as the docs go. Once you get in the room the docs are efficient and thorough. However, trying to get an IV started was going to be a problem.
2 hours later, 3 techs later, and 12 sticks with the IV needle later, they decided to go for my ankle hehe.
So now my arms look like that of a battered woman, and it appears as I continue to get dehydrated (I can't figure that one out) my feet and ankles are gonna look sthe same. *sigh*
Hopefully .... maybe...... pretty please with a cherry top....I can get some answers on this stuff.
