Damn, the beast has enslaved another.  I am sorry you have to seek us out, but now that you're here welcome to the family, Mac.  You will read a lot of advice, abuse  and commentary as we go back and forth with and at each other.  That's what families do.  Just put on your thick skin and dive in.  Read everything you can on this site and the OUCH site - see the links on the left.  I have only been dancing with this devil since Nov 2003, so I am relatively new here as well.  I can tell you that if you have CH, there is no cure, but there is treatment and relief for many.  It sucks for people like yourself who are used to fixing problems and moving on to the next one, because this isn't something you can just fix and forget.  I'm a computer tech (among other things) and pretty much a jack of all trades myself, so I know the feeling.  Besides being a repository for a wealth of information, this board can be a real life and sanity saver.  The people here are the best kind.  They will listen to you rant and rave and when you're done they will pick & play or laugh & cry with and for you.

Again, welcome to the family.

WOW! Thank you Tiannia, Gator, and Charlie.... I think...

My wife has been asking around some about CH, and came home telling me there was a site. I hit up Google and this place was first.

That was a surprise, as when I search out things it usually takes some time to hit the right place.

I am afraid I am a newbie with CH as well as here, and I hope I  never have "Old War Stories" to tell about it.

I don't see how anyone here can deal with this month after month, and into years?

There is No Way I am gonna deal with this much longer than I have, I swear it, and maybe it has been about a month now of every evening or every other IF I get lucky.

I thought at 11 pm this evening I had a miss, but as you see it is a bit later now, and I was crushed with no mercy.

As a x tech, I was never quite able to get away from working metals, and have O2 for gas welding and it can help, but so far that is a 50/50 hit and miss deal. It seems to depend on if I can tell the first sting, or not.

I get what appears as a false sting. I messed up tonight thinking so.

I have a easy question... Is a shawdow the all day hangover, which is like a more or less common head ache?

Anyway I came back because I wondered if I had made a poor analogy, and also to introduce myself some.

I am Mac.. people call me that in real life. Mostly mac is taken up everywhere on line so I added Muz, which at first glance seems odd to strangers, but not once they find out I am a historical re-enactor of the French and Indian Wars, thru American Fur trade ending date for me 1840.

This means I shoot flintlocks and which are also known as muzzeloaders.

I Mod a motor bike site as well, so I am no stranger to trolls, but I can't see why trolls would lurk here, but my guess is they do..

I am 52, and live in Ossipee NH, with my wife. My above hobby leads me to speak to many people, and even for hire on occasions, so while my grammer, and my spelling are rather poor, most folks will understand common chat and talk I hope.

I have only been typing for 3 years, as what I did needed no office skills before. That is IF you can call this typing at all. Expect lots of typos from me as well.

It is not often I find myself asking other people for answers, as I am the one usually being asked, and I have years of experience with all sorts of things from driving teams of Belguim Draft horses to fixing Motor bikes and all kinds of engines.

For the last 20 years I have been teaching myself woodland skills of a native pre whiteman, and can do a great deal of them well.

About pain, about now probably you think I am the "pain" and I might be for all I know, but I fully intend to declare war on this pain, and I have known other pains before, such as fractured discs and still have that one from time to time along with 2 more herniated discs. The free floating fragments beat these head aches, but these head aches are at #2 on my list.

Other pains I have had are a broken neck the same day a drove 3 ribs two times each thru my left lung making 6 holes, and ended up loosing my spleen. That was cake compared to this.

Well I am sure I can't tell it all, all at once.

Feel free to sick me on husbands that won't listen, as my 52 does not slow me down much. Woodland skills require a rugged fit body, and so I guess I am..

If anyone is a wee bit more interested in what makes me tick, you would be welcomed to my yahoo albums which are fit for just about anyone.

http://photos.yahoo.com/bc/mac_muz15

I will add this caution. On a given day I can wear more make up than any 2 American gals do in a whole years time. My make up happens to be made of Earth pigments and grease, which I make myself... Wink  Mac

Mac, welcome to a fellow outdoorsman. Nice to have you here, though I regret the circumstances that bring us together. Read and print the medical info and give it to your doctor, and then read and read and read the other links and other things that have worked for others. I suffered with these fooking things for five years before a fellow Jeeper who has horrible migraines turned me on to this place. Some pics of my Jeep, by the way: http://www.jeepaholics.com/rides/view.asp?id=1787

Again, welcome. I guess you're used to doing what you need to do in order to survive, so this site will give you the tools to do that. Physicians are, as a general rule, woefully ignorant about cluster headaches and how they differ from migraines.

Hang tough.

Jeepgun, nice handle guy... I spend a lot of time working out metal projects.. if you saw a brass pistol on my yahoo I made it all from shop junk..

I don't know that you ARE a shooter, but the handle leads me to think so.

I tend to be a tad hawkish in my ways. I will attack a problem with vigor.. And now I have ammo knowing there are others..

I am looking into getting pens to deal with this for the short term, but looking harder to find the fix.

I might not find that fix, but it can't hurt to try.

I don't take no for an answer often, and I don't quit easy.

I have been to hell and back and this is just another door I guess.

This sure is one adventure I wouldn't mind missing out on, but since the demon has me, I don't seem to have much choice but to "Stand and Deliver", and take back whats mine.

i have always been that guy who pulls over for a stranger with a break down, and to me this is about the same..

I might find some truly weird things to say.. pretty much you can count on it. But then be aware I am new.

Settling for simply getting rid of the pain is unacceptable.

Mac

ps: nice ride.. will be checkin you profile to see about where....

Thanks, Mac! I don't mind guns and weapons. Certainly, in the Army, I handled more than my fair share of them. My handle in previous years has been "Gunhead," because it is the name of a character in an old Japanese anime. I lived in Japan for ten years. In William Gibson's book, "Virtual Light," Gunhead is the name of a police gunship. (Great novel!) Since I began Jeepin', I just coupled the two.

Nice brass pistol, by the way. Very cool...

As for getting to the root of this condition and curing it; if you do that, you will be a very rich man. I wish you the very best in that effort.

If I can prevent the clusters from coming on in the first place, and failing that, if I can knock them out as soon as they start, then I'm nearly delirious with joy, especially after laboring with this condition for a few years without any clue as to what it was or why it was happening, and just slugging it out with each one that came along...

As for typing, don't worry about it. I spend more time editing and correcting my typos than I do, actually typing.  Grin

Take care.

Well, to me life is not about money, so if I figure this out and can pass it on it will be as free to all as I can make it.

In woodland skills come woodland meds.

Search this Inonotus obbliquus.

That won't help us, but it is helping some for cancer. I recently found this in real life growing here..

My purpose was in fire making as my first name for this was touch wood, as in a material for catching spark in place of charr cloth in the "flint and steel" method of fire making.

IF I can figure out a few things about the meds that work and then figure out what these are made from, and then take that and break it down in to chems these meds are, and somehow get which plants and fungus made up parts of this I might stand a chance.

Folks get sick in the boonies too ya know.. I have assisted afew folks there with my limited understandings, and some of them may well have died there in cold weather I play in..

This is on hell of an adventure, even if no one likes it much.

I spent 3 full winters and summers too dwelling in a tee pee, and not for the joy of it, but rather being laid low, injured and broken.

All boot leg camping illegally, I had no choice.

I got sick and I got worse... When sick I depended on plants for cures... Mullien is my friend.. I call it Mule Ear plaintain. Every other year it shoots up a tall stock with yellow flowers. Drying and smoking it will help breathing, and might help this.... that is a maybe and yet untried, but it cure broncitis and you can feel it at work..

I was so very unlucky then to be biten by a brown recluse. A nastly little varmint if ever there was one.

8 times on my right outter thigh it bit me. I was a sufferin pup to say the least, and like now no dough for doctors..

I was about ready to hack off my leg.... I came on clove oil I made and that fixed the intense itch, and cure the infection.

There just has to be something for this out there, and finding it is the tough part.

I am very willing to help and get help. I will need it.

To me every last one of you is motivation for me, and I hope I am the same for you.

Nothing would make my heart feel better than to see this site and OUCH go down for lack of customers, even though you folks are the soul of the Earth so far as I can tell.

As you can see a part of this thing is attitude, and of that I have plenty.

This demon picked the wrong guy to inform of this presence.

I can't say I will for sure find what I seek, but I damn sure can try.

This is not the worst I have ever seen, but it is damned close.

I fully intend to make my nights day and my days nights, and mess up this clock in what ever ways I can. I demand my life back!

I refuse to live in fear that 5PM will happen and I might be 5 hours from home doing 70 mph on my bike..

I am not going to lay down and take this, nor am I going to listen to anyone that says other wise...

No one here has, and I don't expect they will.

I still go dead of winter camping in the White of NH at tree line un - 40 below 0 and I expect i will do so for a long time yet.

Seeing the terms I missed in haste I am already tired of dancing, and dancing I have done and will do more of, but in the end I will win this or die trying to. I have no plans to meet my maker anytime soon. I have seen too much of that and I just won't quit that easy...

Please excuse the harsh nature of my posts, it is not aimed at you folks. It is aimed at me directly. I use this as a tool in times like this and I find it helps me.

I have never been able to afford things many take for granted, and so if I want, I make it, if it breaks I fix it, and if I can't I go with out. After years of this a mind set happens.

It is not easy being me, and after this I know it is not easy being you.

Thank you for welcoming me. There is a power in not being alone....  Mac

Mac - there are a few of us that have done a lot of experimenting with natural herbs. Of course there are the people who use shrooms.  And Morning Glory seeds are supposed to help as well.  I take meletonin and valerian root each night to try and assist with the anxienty that I feel in conjunction with the HA.  The fear you where talking about. That as soon as I close my eyes I find my heart pounding for fear of what will come.

Glad you are here.  There is a lot to read and learn from everyone.
