AV's will come back from the 3-0 deficit to meet Calgary. I had hoped Colorado would have gone through Vancouver and Detroit, (Some paybacks due), but gotta give the Flames some credit. The only Eastern team that has a chance against ANY Western Team is Tampa Bay ... but whoever wins the West will probably take the Cup in 5. COME ON AVALANCHE! Dave

Who ever wins the Avs/Sharks series(I picked the Avs in 7) isn't looking forward to playing the Flames. They're young and they'll be rested by the time the other series is over. The Flames have nothing to lose now. They're going into this next series knowing they can win.Go Flames!

True Mac! The Flames took out the top two seeds and have that motivation behind them. Should the Ave's pull out a miracle comeback ... Calgary was the last team I wanted to see them face. The Western Conference playoffs will probably be better than the Stanley Cup playoffs. Dave

What's killing me is that I'm from Edmonton so I'm an Oiler fan. This is tough but it's nice seeing a small market(Canadian) team do well in the toughest playoffs of any sport in the world. It's an unbelievable test of toughness to determine the Stanley Cup Champions . Speaking of tough I wonder how Stevie Y is doing right about now?

| That's the KEY point, mac. Nobody (except for some die-hard Flames fans) expected them to go this far. Because the team is young and will be well-rested, every game will be played like there's no tomorrow. (That's the way EVERY game should be played regardless.) I'm still thinking that Colorado can come back from the 3-0 deficit even though San Jose was one of the hottest teams down the stretch. The Western Final should be GREAT! In the East, I'm hoping that Philly will put the boots to Tampa Bay. (I don't give the Leafs much chance after the whuppin they got on the weekend.) From the start, I thought the toughest 1st round series to pick would be PHI/NJ, and the winner would end up winning the East. I still think that will be the case. Nearing the halfway-point and it seems like the playoffs just started yesterday! My favorite time of year (right up there with NFL playoffs). grant ;;

As hard as the Sharks are gripping right now, I don;t see COlorado pulling it off. Sharks are a good team, and it's tough for good teams to lose 4 in a row this time of year. Personally I think the Avs have been too inconsistent this year... Philly-Toronto? Hoping Toronto pushes it to 7...and considering how boisterous the Philly fans are it would be funnt to see them lose. But, as a Tampa fan I think the Flyers are a better matchup for the Bolts. The Flyers have a good chance of thinking they can play the Bolts speed style, and they can't. And if they think they can bully the Bolts, so did the Islanders and so did the Habs. The Lightning are a far tougher team than a lot of people are giving them credit. They are the healthiest team at this point, and now have the home ice... No one gave Calgary a chance at this point, so I would not be surprised to see them beat the winner of the Sharks/Avs series. I expect the Bolts to win their series...but that's tinged with being a Lightning fan.

| Boisterous!!!! My A$$!! Tampa Bay hasn't been tested yet. There is no chance that the Eastern Conference will go down so easy. Philly is a team people love to hate, just listen to Pat Quinn, prior to this series. As much as I would love to watch a game seven on Thu, particularly 'cause I'll be working tonight. I want those Leaf cry-babies to be done with. Now in the West, The Flames are the team to beat. They're gritty, determined and focused. Love the playoffs, love hockey. It doens't get any better than this. Bring me some Guinness, bring me some hot wings and let's get LOUD!!! Whooohoooo!!!!

Tampa hasn't been tested yet? OK... Coming in to the playoffs all I heard was Isles in 6, Tampa's soft, blah blah... Then it was Montreal in 7, Theo's better than Habi, blah blah. Aside from Ottawa (who choked AGAIN), NY and Mtl were the two Eastern teams that gave the Bolts the most trouble this year. As for the fans, I don't see any Leafs fans descending on the Bolt Boards I go to before they actually make it to th conference finals. But Philly fan already thinks they are going all the way! Win your second round series first! I'm sure Leaffan is just as bad...but at least they are not so bold as to taunt their "next" opponent before they actually make it that far. And BTW, what was the Lightning's record against Philly and Toronto this year? What about against NY and Montreal? But I know, I know. The regular season doesn't mean anything. Except for getting the #1 seed and THE RIGHT to play the lower seeds. But that's held against the Bolts because they DISMANTLED the #7 and #8. That circumstance did the Red Wings real good. But the Bolts "haven't been tested" or are "the worst #1 seed ever". Laughable. I'm sure the next round will be tougher for the Bolts. It always get's harder as you go deeper. But the Lightning belong where they are, and will be healthier and more rested than their next opponent.

It's pretty darned exciting living in Calgary right now!! We're all wearing red as much as possible last night. The "C" of red at the 'Dome last night was pretty freakin impressive and to hear the fans start to chant "Go Flames Go" beFORE the Anthems? Wow. Loved the hex on Cujo too - "Cuuuuujooooo" LOL I've got a Flames flag flying from my car as do thousands of others. Our city has gone totally nuts here. Horns honking well into the night. Lots of sleepy folks here today. Iggy and Geli and Kipper, etc. etc. etc.....what a team Sutter has assembled (even if he does look like Beaker from the Muppets ). These young Flames play for the name on the front of the sweater, not the one on the back. Teamwork at its best. Average age is 24. They're young, they're fast, they don't panic. This team and this city has got the fever for SURE! All the way, baby!! If heart and fan support counts for anything, Lord Stanley's coffee mug might just have to live in Cowtown for a year or so (maybe more depending on what happens in Sept.) Oh yeah, The Calgary Flames made fifty bucks for OUCH Canada when they beat Vancouver (RIGHT, Broomie and Doug? ) So now all clusterheads everywhere HAVE to cheer on my Flames!!!

Not, bad Edski, true, the Lightning, beat the Flyers all four games during the regular season, but all 4 games had one ingredient missing or at least partially missing. But I'll let you figure that one out on your own. Granted, this series is far from over and we might be in for some 120 min of great hockey. An i'm going to drop it at that. See you in the next round. A passionless, objective sports fan is like lukewarm water, only good to make you throw up! Ozzy

Ozzman, I fully know the Flyers are a lot healthier now. IF they are the next opponent it will likely not be a sweep. For either team. But with the extra rest, the better health, and overall team speed, I like the way the Lightning stack up against either the Leafs or Flyers. BTW, what is your feeling about Esche? Seems odd that they first say "upper body injury" and now it was "just the flu"...

When Esche went out during the first intermission. It nearly killed my enthusiasm and had a hard time enjoying the game. As a matter of fact, I said if the injury is something significant, we might as well call it quits. Don't like Burke, hated (his goaltending) him in 98 and hate him now. From all the reports I have heard, read and seen (on TV), it seems it might be the Flu. We'll see how and if he plays tonight. If the Flyers are going to make it far, it will be with Esche on net. The team plays differently with him on net (Hint to my previous question) Ozzy
