most aches last as long as the meds take to work?????is it the meds stopping the ch or the normal course of it.I've suffered for 19+ yrs. I am 35 male and my calender is 8am next 1030am next 330pm next 7pm next 1030 pm then 220am(worst of all) then 430 am all last 45min to half hour. Left side bombardment with 5 min. "aura" b4 onset. Sory but im so pissed at these things I might not handle it much longer

Yes... o2 is a good first choice. o2 does not abort for me, so I do the shot of Imitrex to the arm. .14ml takes 3-4 minutes to work for me. Sounds like a ticket if you get a 5-minute heads up. What preventatives are you on? Not having much luck with them from the sound of it, huh? wrokk

have done prednisone prevent but only in terms of shortening attack stage after cycle begins, seems to lesson attack intensity but not duration of time(mine last from one month to 5 months)also have never done o2 but have appointment to scrip on tuesday for that. i have found to get through bad attack to get in shower and put nozzle on massage and beet my face with it for 15 min. it at least lessons extreme pain. what is with the fact that closing your eyes makes them so much more intense, when im awakened I have to concentrate on something just to keep eyes open(anybody else same)

Sorry about your trouble with this horror. I've not had much experience with drugs but this technique worked very well for me: http://www.netsync.net/~charlies/ I hope this along with the other ideas helps. Charlie

I find I don't like to close my eyes either. I don't think the pain is worse with the eyes closed it's just that my brain focuses on the pain more when they are closed. I find it also helps to have something to listen to like CNN, or talk radio, or something and not too loud but loud enough to distract me from the pain and is available to me to concentrate on if and when I can.
