Nashville Sightseeing Help Needed

Alright folks, I need some help here.  I need to take our mad viking around to sites around Nashville while he is here.

He is ariving Friday morning, and leaving on Monday.  I am guessing that Saturday will be tied up all day with convention fun.

Where can I take him and Bente, where they will get a sampling of our country?  I know Elvis and the Grand Ole Opry are available, what else?

How many others want to join us?

Chuck

I'm in for whatever. But Need to take in some definite "local" flair ya know? Who need to figure who is from or close to the area...that can help us.

What about the Grand Ole Opry???? That's an experience. Printer's alley has some quaint joints at night. (The best I remember).

Stockyard (or Cattlepen) restaurant has a great bar downstairs (the Bullpen).

I don't think you'll be bored.  Nashville is great......

Is there alot of cool stuff within walkin distance of the hotel by any chance ? I know there is that big COOL park across the street from the hotel . But are there other attractions close by .......big taverns with music or a band maybe......cool places to hang out......party or eat or entertain....whatever ! Figure traffic will be hectic to be jumpin in a vehicle and try to drive arund to see the sites. Plus if yer gonna be sittin around socializeing and havein some beers it's not real cool to drive around anywhere. Be more fun to stumble here and there around the imidiate area to see what's there and find some sort of fun spots. (music woud be cool) . Jus wonderin.......never been there so whadda I know ??? Pam that's never been near the place at all and rather curious

the hotel will also provide transportation and pick up to down town. It is about a three minute car ride. Downtown has bunches of honky tonk bars and restaraunts. Second avenue also has different kinds of bars and restaraunts as well. And from downtown you can walk to the Country Hall music of fame. Broadway is the country music street and then 2nd ave is more for the younger crowd, if you don't really like country music.
There is a cuban ("Havana"Wink cigar bar, there is buffalo Billiards.
If the hotel is not picking up or dropping off at the times you want to go, I reckon it would be a $5 cab ride.
Within walking distance of the hotel there are bunches of resaraunts. PF CHangs, Flemmings steak house, the Cooker, Mac Donalds, The Bread Company. Book stores.
So you wont have to eat in the hotel.
I hope that helps YA'LL
Love Jayne
