Why does this shit happen?

Hi to everybody!
I just got a call from my husband about a friend of ours. He is very close to ours, he is American (from Los Angeles) and in Italy because he works in an American base not so far away from where we live.
He is a pilot just come back for a few days from Iraq. He was in a terrible accident last night and he is in a critical condiction.
If you wouldn't mind saying a prayer or sending him good vibes, I'd really appreciate it. 
His name is Michael. He is a good guy with a heart of gold, often in our home to eat spaghetti  with us, just remarried last year and finally happy.
I always try not to question but I always ask why does this shit happen?

I'm young but I've seen miracles in this world. Michael is in critical condition, in a coma. I'm thinking about the grub which has a strange attitude, to wrap himself with a lump: the Death! If we have faith what the grub considers as the tragedy of death, for the butterfly it is the miracle of life!
