I don't care if anyone laughs there ass off, but I am a Mets fan and they have sucked the past 3 or 4 years. I mean sucked.

I just, while eating dinner, watched an error that a little leaguer couldn't have possible have made. The second basemen had an easy grounder to chuck to the shortstop at second. He didn't miss, he threw the ball 40 feet into left field. What the hell? Was the guy thinking about getting laid at the hotel later that night?
If yer getting paid even the mininum that these guys get paid which must be like $300,000 per year, an error is acceptable. A easy toss to the shortstop that lobs 40 feet into left that scores a run and ruins a 4 inning shutout should get this guy removed from the game and have to do drills.

The Mets better improve.

That's my team, and I have to stand by them. Been a fan since '84

I'm not sure how anyone could really get excited about baseball at this time of year --- they only have HOW MANY games left to play?    Roll Eyes

I lost interest in baseball and respect for the players when they started all the strike crap.  Threatening to take away "America's Pasttime" if they don't get paid more money.  Most Americans couldn't give a shit anymore since then.

Gimme FOOTBALL!

I liked Geroge Carlin's comparison of football vs baseball (some quotes may not be exact):

Football is played on a gridiron - Baseball is played on a diamond.

The object of football is to use a series of sneak attacks, blitzes and long bombs to penetrate the enemies defences and take their goal  - the object of baseball is to run home.

In football you have the 2 minute warning - in baseball you have the 7th inning stretch.

It goes on and on and is hilarious.

Looking for that Carlin album now.

My thoughts exactly.

Live is too short NOT to play hockey.

Ok ok ...yeah I love football too, but, its only draft time and no real good information is gonna happen until after that........its a long way till the season starts so I need something else.
Basketball......decent sport but I don't particularly care for it now that all the true proven greats are gone.
Hockey.......what is it with you people........Don't get me wrong I like the sport, fights, all that jazz.....but what is considered post season play in this sport? Almost all the teams make the playoffs......whats the regular season for? you could just total up all the career goal scoring averages for each team and then have the "playoffs" get it all done in six weeks and move on...besides, I've had enough ice for one year already.

Baseball... people thats what this thread is about.....who's yer team, how do you think they are gonna do, wild and not so wild predictions for the post season and all that jazz, talk trash, etc. c'mon my guys are doin good so far don't ruin this for me. Cheesy

Ramon,

Regular season ice hockey is like pre-season to football.  The real game doesn't start until it's time to play for THE cup.

my boys didn't fair well at all.  our "real season" ended last week after only 5 games.  we stunk!

oh well...there will always be video to watch come september!   Cry Cry

I'm pushing for the lightning and maple leafs now.  Would be nice to see Belfour loft the cup one more time, even if for a different team!

Baseball is nearly a perfect game.

Not so easy to get hurt and easier to recover most of the time.

At any given time the worst player can make the difference....and he has many more chances.

You don't have to win to be a hero.

God I love it
