Greetings from Baghdad!

   Hey all,
I guess we can put a temporary flag on the member map in Baghdad, Iraq. I'm over here with my unit, attached to the 1st Armored Cavalry division. I have been fortunate to be pain free the whole time training and moving over here, but we have a long time to go before we can come home, so my fingers are crossed.
I wish I could tell you all what I'm doing, I'd love to write down where I am and what's really happening here, but we've been drilled on operational security. Suffice it to say that I'm proud to be here, and that I'll do my best. I'd love to hear from y'all and answer questions, as long as it doesn't have to do with the mission I'm on.
Baghdad is actually a beautiful city, and the people here can be very kind and friendly, it's just that some whackos screw it up for everyone.
I'll try to check back in soon, but it can sometimes be a day or two before I can even check emails, so I'll do my best. I missed you guys when I was away from my PC.

Hi Jason and it's very cool that you can connect.

Ditto to everything and it's good to learn that not everything is like what we see on cable news over there. I saw some nice stuff on CBS the other day about what some of you are doing for Iraqis and  that it's lucky for them that it's you and us that's in the occupation.

For god's sake keep your wits about you and check in when you can.  Maybe you can tell us more about the general condition of Baghdad. In any case, we're proud of you.

I am personally not for the war. I am supportive of our troops. I know some people serving in Iraq. Good people. And I want nothing but their safe and speedy returns. I am saddened by the news of the recent weeks.

I do find it cool you have internet access at your base.

Stay strong. I can't imagine what you must be going through and if you have CHs at the same time?!!!1
