Talkin about cars....
« on: Apr 8th, 2004, 1:26pm »
Quote Quote Modify Modify Remove Remove

Has me deciding on what car I want next.  I currently have a 1996 Chevy Blazer, which I have a love/hate relationship with.  Anyhow, I've decided what I'm going to purchase next, hopefully next year if everything goes right.

I built my own, and you can see it here: http://tinyurl.com/2ta8w

Now, be it your next new vechicle purchase, or your dream ride, what's YOUR next car/truck/cycle??

I used to have a '65 t-bird.Awesome car. The interior was like being in the cockpit of a plane. It had a 390? 4 barrel. Was a pig on gas but nice to look at and fast.  Cool

Out of the newer cars I really like the new Mazda RX8's. Love the suicide doors.

Either one of the two I let go when I left for Nam.

1963 Triumph TR3 Roadster  (last one I saw went for $250.000)  I sold mine for $2,000.

1969 Firebird 400.  Sold mine for $2,200.  Saw one 8 years ago at a car show.  $63,000 mint.

We almost leased the bright yellow 2002 Monte Carlo back in 02 in the showroom but decided on the bright yellow 2002 hot lookin LS Cavilier. I LOVE the car.......but.........am turnin it in this year and would LOVE the bright yellow Hummer settin in the front lot. Like to see racoons bust off bumpers and fender skirts and jerks kick or slam the sides leavein huge dents on that sucker !! My poor little car has been thru hell !!! I live in the land of rodents and jerks. Since I cant afford the Hummer and it wouldn't fit in my driveway anyhow I will settle on one of there Chevy yellow trucks. That way I can fall out verses crawl out of my beloved little car of now. Mellow Yellow do the dew Pam

I only read about this motorcycle today.

its called the Y2K.

Its worth $237,000 dollars. It has a moneyback guarantee that it will reach 400kph.
It has a turbine engine used in helicopters will optimum performance achieved at 56,000 rpm. It only has two gears.

There are only 9 in the world. apparently a guy was booked on one in the states doing 375kph on a 70kph zone.

Id be buying one of these. Only draw back is it runs on an avgas concoction and only gets 32 kilometres to the tank. Thats a lot of fuel tanks.

Apart fromthis I own my dream bike.

Triumph Sprint RS yellow 2003 model.

I just did a 5342km trip to Tasmania and back in 20 days.

Nice looking Monte Carlo, Melissa.

...The fog rolls in and a dreamy look falls over my face - oh, no...Not a flashback sequence...

My first car was a '65 Impala that I traded for a Harrington and Richardson .410 singleshot shotgun.  The dude I got it from was an ex-con who couldn't legally buy a gun.

When I was 17 I got a '56 Chevy Bel-Air - 4 door, cow patty green.  Huge tank of a car. (but a big back seat Grin)  Wish I had held onto that beast.

Then a '70 Plymouth Duster.  The 225cid slant 6 engine ran almost 300K miles before it died.  I didn't even bitch.  I just eased it over to the side of the road and called the old man for a tow.

I had one of those LTD II - Starksy and Hutch cars, too.  Sweet car with a police interceptor package in it.  My first ex-wife got that one.

Second ex-wife got my 1980 Elcamino while I was stationed overseas in Korea and Japan.  I personally rebuilt the engine, did the bodywork, painted it, rebuilt the suspension.  Man it was sweet.

...fog lifts - Damn, back to reality...

Personally, if I win the lottery or I find a long lost rich uncle to suck up to and get in his will, I'd get a mint condition '53 Corvette.  Better half wants a Porche, but I think they are ugly little cars.  (that oughta start something) Volkswagon with a fancy body.

I would also get a new GMC pick up.  Something in a long bed crew cab with plenty of power for hauling and towing.

Gator
It's a long story

I went to make my own car,

Dale Earnhardt package, black of course,

I could not uncheck the 4 speed automatic box,

I can't believe there isn't a 5 speed standard option,

And there should also be a 6 speed standard option.

Probably front wheel drive too.

Now I know why I hate GM.

Opus/Paul

My choice, '99 mustang, black, 6 speed standard.
