WARNING Duragesic 75ug/h Pain Patch Recall

Hello everyone my name is Terry and I wear a duragesic 75 ug/h pain patch for my (chonic) cluster headaches. This patch is a fentanyl transdermal system where so much medicine is absorbed thur the skin. I get mine thur the VA and I received a call from Iowa City VA Hospital this am 4/7/04 and was asked to read the lot # or control # off bottom of package the patches come in. My # was 0327295 and was told to stop taking it because of a defect causing too much medicine being absorbed thur the body. There's my reason for being out of it so much last few weeks. I had used 6 of those patches changed every 72 hours so boy was I really in lala land for weeks. Wife was even worried about my very slow heart rate a few times. So everyone taking this medicine please check your lot # its a 7 didget on bottom of box. I dont know if the 25ug/h or 50ug/h or 100ug/h are effected by this recall so if anyone is taking this medicine I would call whoever prescibes it to you and have them double check their lot #'s just in case. And if you have been feeling really wipeout more than usual on this medicine please call or visit your Dr. or neuro asap. BTW I wont get replacement patches til tomorrow even tho I was due to change it today and the nurse that called me just told me to take ibuprfen or tylenol to get me by. That just makes me so mad but I laughed it off and hung up the phone. Lucky I have a 10mg shot of morphine on hand at all times for the super beast and a few tylenol with codine just in case. I could swear I saw something about this around here somewhere..........hell, it could've been by You if ya strapped one of them leaky patches on. Nuthin like 3 days worth of meds released into your system in 20 minutes. You musta been either in Hawg Heaven, or well Passed out for 17 hours.

Yes RJ I had seen that posted about 3 weeks to a month ago but that lot # ended with a 192. Damn how can I remeber that and not remember my SS # by heart anymore. Oh well life goes on. Everyone please have PF days and nights. Terry
