I just finished joining O.U.C.H. and ordered a T-shirt, too. Mixed feelings about that...

I wish I had no need to join. I wish I had no need of this website. I wish I'd never known what a cluster headache felt like. I'd rather be stabbed... Then again, as my grandfather always used to say, "Wish in one hand and sh*t in the other, and see which one fills up the fastest."

| Well, if it's any comfort, we have ALL felt the exact same way you do. I try to look on the brighter side of things with clusters. I find that I cherish my life a lot more during PF periods. I'm so happy and glad that I DID find this website because of all the wonderful people here! I have made friendships here that I know will last a lifetime! I'm so lucky I get to attend the OUCH conventions and meet these people face to face, and actually have an AWESOME time!! Plus due to this website and the OUCH site, I can learn, in depth, about my condition, so I am armed with info. on how to battle with the beast. I think that is great, because I would rather be knowledgable about clusters, instead of not knowing what the fuck they were! Let's see, clusters have given me an inner strengh that helps me deal with day to day problems in life, like not freaking out when something bad happens, or having empathy for others in pain, even though my cluster pain is considered "the worst" by the medical profession. I've learned to be a lot more patient and thankful to be alive. I'm so happy I am not dead. Even if it means having to spend some of my time in horrendous pain, it DOES eventually end, and I can get back to life! mel

You are both so right... Thank you... I'm just so grateful for having found this board. I can't tell you how long I was scared, and how deeply I was terrified that these were indicative of a brain tumor. I'm going to be at the OUCH convention in Nashville, so I hope to see you there. -Frank

Thanks, everyone. Is there someplace on this board where we can post photos of ourselves, so that we can recognize each other when we DO meet?

You can see pics of clusterheads at Bob P.'s picture page here: http://www.pahlow.net/ch/clusterheads.htm He has instructions at the bottom of the page, how you can add your pic to the site! Oh, and ignore my pic, I don't have that big of chipmunk cheeks anymore...yet I think you know that. mel

Welcome to the madhouse and your getting an OUCH shirt is a big part of the battle. Just wearing it will make others ask about it. It can only help. Coolness. Meeting other clusterheads is a treat. Not being isolated with this horror is a joy, albetit one with an edge. Glad to have ya. Charlie

Charlie is right I wear my OUCH UK polo shirt when I go to the gym, and EVERY time I wear it someone asks what it is about. If every CH sufferer was asked twice a week what OUCH is, my small brain cannot begin to compute how many more people would know about CH. Wendy

| This is a vale of tears but in some way we can understand that we can learn something from our misfortune of being CHs. The sufference for a pain can open yourself to an interior growth, a deeper life, and full of meaning. If you go out during the night in the darkness and lift your eyes to the sky, you’ll see thousands of stars. Have you never thought about this: if there was not the darkness you would not see any star?? BTW, you’ve found yourself feet, isn’t it?? I hope to meet you in Nashville!! Ciao, Zaira
