Pharmacy/ Insurance

If you are fortunate enough to get Imitrex shots on your health plan, make sure your doctor tells the pharmacy how long the prescription lasts before your next refill. I just had a bad experience refilling mine. Some insurance company automatically put a time limit for the next renewal, so when I went in on a Saturday to refill the computer told the pharmacy that the next renewal was in two weeks time! I had to wait till Monday to speak to the insurer and rectify the problem. spent two nights in combat with the demon.

It's the insurance company. Doesn't matter what the prescription says. In my case it's 4 shots a month, not a day sooner. No exceptions !! I can get the doc to prescribe all I want, but it's useless without cash or a med plan that will pay.

| Yes Jonny, one of those "mental defectives" as you call them was my Mom. She had bi-polar disorder, and if she were alive today, she'd rip you a new one. mel (actually, she'd probably laugh.........I really miss her... )

My doc gave me a rx with a year's worth of refills. Insurance company won't do it! I paid the regular co-pay for the 1st, had to pay 50% of the cost of the med the 2nd, and the 3rd, I had to pay 100% cost of the med. This was only 9 days worth of meds. I don't see how the chronic's handle this shit. They have to have the meds every day and night. At least the episodics can stock pile if they get the chance.

Does anyone else here have Humana? My neuro wrote my script for 3 boxes inj. Trex, and 12 nasal sprays times 8 refills for 1 year. I've not had a problem filling my scripts at all. I do pay a co-pay with each refill which comes out to $118.00 (for both the injections and nasal sprays. My insurance pays 80% of my prescriptions)
