Is anyone familiar with the headache clinic out there? I have been refered there by my neuro, and will be going out there on the 31st of this month. Anyone in the area want to meet for coffee? Chuck

Hi Chuck, I was referred to a clinic in Greensboro, NC called the Headache Wellness Center. I never made it there b/c I was turned down for insurance. Anyway, I saw that you lived in Greenville so it may be a little closer or if this one doesn't work out for you. Also, I live in Wilmington, NC if your ever down this way. I travel up that way a couple of times a year also. Good luck, Thorns

Hi Thorns! I must have had my head up my ass, as I missed when you joined us! Welcome aboard! I will be heading down your way one of these days. I have promised Paigella (we try to accept her as a clusterhead, even if she is ONLY a female!) that I will come down for coffee, and she lives Hampstead, I think. Guess the three of us will have to get together. We are planning to have another Clusterhead Get together in May. Hopefully you can join us. I will have to get out the email messages to find out who wants to host it this time. If no one feels they can, I guess we will have it here in Greenville. Welcome aboard! Chuck PS: I better go hide, as Paige is gonna kick my ass ! Oh, wait, she is a mere female , so I guess I am safe.

| I'm 15 minutes from Baptist.....if my schedule allows, I'll swing by and say hi..... I've not been to the HA clinic, but I've been satisfied with the care I've gotten in other departments. As for the May meeting.....as long as it's not on the 16th, I'll be there! <like you didn't know that> Bill

Well, that was a supreme waste of time and money! Over nine hours spent on the road (or some on the side of the road, dealing with the beast) and nothing new. She was very nice, but after getting all my history, she said that just about everything that can be tried, has been tried. Then she told me something I never knew. She said, "You know, sometimes, cluster headaches are very hard to treat ..." Gee, 26 years of this crap, and I never knew that! DUH! Did she really think I didn't KNOW that? Also, when I finally got there, and looked around, NOWHERE did it mention anything about headaches or even pain management! I thought I was going to a headache clinic?!?! She did spend about 45 minutes with me, and the only new thing she discovered was that my blood pressure is quite different from one arm to the other. She was also very interested in OUCH and in ch.com. She did suggest that maybe I might get some help if I went to Duke Univ. Gee why didn't I get sent there first? It is a hell of a lot closer! AND I think they actually have a headache clinic there! It has been so long with the amount of hits that I get, I am beginning to forget what it is like to be at my normal one or two hits a day! Damn! I just figgured it out! I have been at this 6 to 12 hits a day level since July. That is NINE months of this shit! THAT is depressing! So let's look on the good side, at least I got out information to a neuro about OUCH and ch.com. Just thought I would give you all an update. Chuck

So, you'll be calling Duke tomorrow....right? Today not a waste of time, Chuck...it was simply one more rock you have to overturn before you find what you need. Put some music on, and relax...you've had a long day... Cathi
