Hey Freddy,

Not hardly. There are many here that will attest to the calming influence of our pets.

I can't deal with much in the middle of a dance, but just having my dogs there without bugging me is calming.

It seems that cats and dogs know just when we need them most. I have 3 dogs (black lap and 2 weiner dogs) All 3 of my dogs knew that something was wrong with me last Monday. Our dog (Spades cuz hes blacker then the Ace of spades) would not leave his place under the bed where he sleeps. My 2 weiner dogs (Sir Copper and Mz Penny)  howled once I got home. They all knew something was wrong with "Mom" Heck even our red tailed boa was up at the top of her tank checkin me out. She doesnt do that often. But she did that day. I love my dogs better then I love humans at times. I wouldnt trade my dogs for all the tea in China. They are my best friends when no one eles seems to give a damn. I love my critters. Just goes to show ya that no matter what life tosses at ya your critters will love ya no matter what!!

PS: Mz Penny is going to have pups next month so Ill be having "grand puppies" LMAO

Everyone here KNOWS me LOVES my cats !!! I have 6 siamese all colors but one is in a big giante cat playpen cuz he 'pee's' on the bed ! I think he is tryin to tell Brad sumthin. I think yer cat is sheddin Freddy......is it a long hair cat ? There fur clumps all over everything esp certain times of the year. Stress causes animals to shed also......ever notice all the excess hair when ya take a pet to the vets ? Hope yer neuro trip went well ! Don't get too stressed or you'll shed all over the carpet too Pam

watch you cat for two things (and dogs too) , more cats for number one though,
1- they know where the "good" places in your house are, good as in fong shuy, this might be a good place to dance
2-check out their lying positions, legs crossed? right sideor left? forepaw touching hindpaw? etc, and if you lie down to dance or struggle with pain try to mimic the position

Well..I have 2 Blue & Yellow macaws...and Red-Tail boa too. Had the parrots almost 20yrs now...never been caged or anything. But anyhow...they usually like to get a morning shower with me..and I can hear them goin back and forth on their perches....which manifests to screeching until I take 'em to the bathroom. Anyhow..like this mornin for example..havin a lovely dance going on...and its happened other mornings too....they remain very still and quiet until I acknowledge them..its like they know that dad is not in the mood for screaming. I wouldn't trade them for anything in the world!!!!!  Luke

I think we should all get together and do a movie..."Night of The Clusterheads". George Romero would have nothing on us!!!

Do you think there are anti-depressant or anti-anxiety medications for our beloved pets. -Freddy

Hey Freddy,

I know of a lot of rescue folks who use various anti-anxiety/depressive meds for their rescue dogs. If you're serious about that, ask your vet.

My little corgi girl benefited from something called DHP - a pheromone thingy I plugged into the wall for about a month. Weird, but it worked.

Freddy, I don't know you (hi) but I am sorry you are going through it.  The ONLY thing that stopped my cycle was the neuro putting me on 960 mg SR of verapamil.  After 3 days the CHs stopped.  Mention it to him/her and ask for some samples (zomig, etc.)  He also put me on 50mg elavil which I no longer take.  But the verapamil finally did it.  I had no side effects with verapamil, some people get constipated but you can take senakot if that happens.  Anyway, good luck to you.  I have a few imitrex inhalers left if you need.  Stuey
