Meds Change

Hi everyone...
I went to the headache doc over in New Jersey today. We made some changes again! I've been having 3-4 CH's a day lately...but because I'm still on coumadin and methergine, my med choices are limited. So the deal is that I'm going to go off the methergine over 9 days. Once I'm off that, I call my doc and he will put me on Amerge for 1-2 weeks twice a day.
I'm also going to be done my course of coumadin on April 2, and once I'm done that...we will do an 8 week Prednisone taper course. 80mg for a week and then drop by 10mg over 8 weeks. He told me the Prednisone taper I was on before might have worked for migraines, but not clusters.
We ditched elavil (amitriptyline), and now I'm taking norpramin (I think?) which is another drug in the tricyclic antidepressant class. It's supposed to make you a lot less tired! He also switched the ultracet I had for daily head pain over to Skelaxin...that's a muscle relaxer. It's just as needed use.
So anyways...that's the latest! I can't wait to get off the methergine and coumadin so that we can be more aggressive in trying to beat all this crap down!
