I don't go out when in cycle, so I haven't had that problem........ I think it sucks everytime I get hit.

| Agreed. I've been hit in resturants, concerts, hockey games, wedding receptions, parties, in the car, at work and even the Dr's office and Thomas is right, they ALL sucked. Because of the humiliation of getting whacked in public I usually just hide in my shell when a cycle starts up and stay there till it's safe to come back out. Jim

Man, Jim, I couldn't have said it better myself, brother. We are alike in the hiding-out respect.

No fun is right. I can tell you that I got hit in a local diner-bar way back in the dim past. It was the day that I learned my technique and I tried to disappear in a back booth. After a spirited fight my 20 minute attack was shortened to about half. I'll never forget it. I doubt that I could do it in a fast food place or a crowded dining room though. Nasty effen things. I get hit too often to not have it happen in public. Hell I was just out at lunch today and about half way through eating my chicken sandwich, my nose started to run and I am using my napkin to try and keep the sweat from runnning in my eyes. The nice thing is the gal I was out with, her hubby is a CH sufferer (eposodic), so she completly understood and could tell right away what was happening. I have gotten to the point where I dont give a shit what people around me think. It is almost to the point that I dare peope to say something to me. I think right now I get more angry then anything when they hit. It is like I want someone to say somethign so I have an excuse to yell at someone since I cant yell at the beast. Tia

Yea it does totally suck to get hit in public! But I would have to agree with Thomas and JDH...sucks no matter when ya get hit!! One time I was on stage getting ready to perform in a Martin Luther King, JR. concert, and I got hit while waiting to perform. AHHHHHhhhhhhhh Everyone asked me if I was going to sneeze because my eye was watering like crazy and I was getting more and more congested. There was really nothing I could do since we were already on stage, so I was sitting on our choral risers trying to rock it away. My friend Dan was sitting next to me, and he knows what is going on with me, so he was there for me, and that was really nice. I've turned into a bit of a "hider" myself! I never go out anymore, and since my choir is going on tour this week, I'm not staying in any homestays or hotels, and I'm actually only going on the first 3 days of the tour. I will be staying in my apartment and my house back home for those 3 days. Sucks that we have to rearrange our lives around this sometimes!! Hang in there!! Lizzie

Yep getting hit in public does suck big time. I've had people say: "Why is one of your ears red?" "Did you know that one half of your lip is all puffed up?" "Have you been smoking weed???? Your right eye is all bloodshot." Ahhhhh...... The ignorance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK OK I do agree also I have had many times of dissapointment when in cycle even the girls had to be told to go home when I new I was going to get lucky. And I am allways hideing in that corner all the time but dammit sometimes I just want to eat out at a decent place once in awhile but I no I need to just wait till the cycle is over and then do the normal human things. Thanks We are a special breed and need to concentrate on killing the beast and worry about the special things at a later date!
