Yep, thats the claim!
The site also says....."My brother had cluster headaches for many years, and nothing his doctor did seemed to help. Then he heard about sinus buster. He tried it and hasn't had a cluster headache since".
I heard the inventor of this on Howard Stern today, when asked how he found out this would work he said..." I started to feel a meegraine coming on during a self defense demonstration, just then my partner sprayed me with pepper spray and my cluster headache was gone in two seconds"
What a LOSER!!!!!
I think this punk was here awhile back pushing this stuff cause CH.COM is on the links page.

Even tho Doc Bigal was impressed with the Civamide results, it was a 2-3 week prevent kinda deal. Left me with a "BZZZZZZZTTTTTT - WRONG" kind of feeling in my guts. You do your thing, but fer crying out loud, DON'T touch mine.
4. Civamide clinical trials have closed out and the number crunching has begun. What they learned from the earlier trials with civamide is that it works most effectively in a prevention mode. It appears to work on a cumulative effect. The first week does not show much improvement, but by the time they get out to 20 days there is marked improvement. This may be something that can be used to abort a cycle, not just an attack.

People who snake-oil others at their wits end with CH, hoping to snag a few who might think he has found an answer or it's worth a try, they care shitless if it works or not. This guy knows the CH crowd is perhaps small so tries to snag the bigger crowd with the migraines too. Next he'll have people attesting to it's effectiveness.
If he REALLY had clusters, he should be sent to a remote Pacific island with nothing but his miracle cure.

Just found the reference I was half remembering.
Rome Headache Conference last year that Don went to. Dr N.T. Matthew from the Houston Headache clinic gave a talk on abortives, part of which said:
New treatments are Vanilloid Receptor Antagonists - Capsaicin (can give intense irritation of nasal cavity), Civamide Nasal Spray (a significantly less irritant than Capsaicin. Gives significant reduction in h/a over 21 days. Currently running a very small study on this – but more volunteers desperately needed!)

It's true there is a significant amount of literature on using Capsaicin to abort CH. However, I think the problem with this whole issue is that it is really claiming that it is 100% effective and stops all CH for 12 hours.
Nothing works for 100% of people!
The way the claim is made...even if it is a legit product...makes the claim unreliable and unbelievable!

i have suffered from this s**t for 10 years and and have given up hope from any modern medicine because NONE of it works for me for any extended period of time.
like many of you have said in the past (and yes i have been a casual viewer of this site for 3 years), you would give anything for something that worked!
i have just gotten to the point where i don't want to poison my body with more crap like Imitrex and have just sucumbed (sp?) to the fact that i will have these for the rest of my life and bare the pain nightly without meds.
i am sorry that i did not introduce myself first before making my first post but really is the response anyway to treat a newbie? it's not like i was defending it! i was asking a friggin question
maybe this isn't the support or help group i was looking for

We all suffer because there is no actual medication made for clusters, but giving up hope is not an
advisable cup of tea.
Give anything for something that worked? This is the premise with which sales are hoped to be made with a
100% effective tag slapped across the label.
Imitrex has done too much for people here to be termed
poison and crap.
Feel free to try any remedy you wish, but check out the effectiveness and how many use it. That info can be found to the left, medication survey. But then, that survey reflects only the choices people prefer when unbearable pain MUST be stopped, from people who experience that pain.
If you have given up hope and then try this remedy; what if it doesn't work too. Then what? I hope it works for you, if not, this site will be here.
Putting your above three sentences together, I'd recommend: Read jonny's post above.

I wasn't clear, I wasn't trying to suggest that capsaicin was anything other than an experimental possible if people have failed with the treatments we know work (wouldn't do it myself, sounds far too painful) and the extract from the Rome Meeting of all the CH gurus makes it clear that the Doctor concerned thought that Civamide was a far better option (if an option at all!)
And anyone who claims ANYTHING is 100% effective as a treatment for CH is either mad, a fool, a troll, a charlatan or a snake-oil vendor.
