THE PAIN
The pain is so excruciating,
makes me want to scream.
You look at me curse and hop,
a freak to you I seem.
You see me pace and bang,
across the room I roam.
Why, oh why, does this damn beast,
thnk my heads it's home?
I cry, I yell, I rock, I plead,
I even get obscene.
What you see & hear right now,
towards you, these things I do not mean.
All this anger at times like this,
flows right out of me.
The bastard is in control right now,
I am not myself, you see.
I didn't sign up on a list,
I didn't volunteer.
I didn't ask for any of this,
when you shed a tear.
So please just try to understand,
when you see me flip,
this painful ride I ride upon,
if up to me I'd skip.
There is another option,
there is another way.
I could end this pain, you know,
end it all today.
Instead I fight the fight,
to chase the beast away.
With the other option,
in the bud the pain I'd nip.
I am just not ready,
for that one way trip.
