Verapamil Questions

I just started on the stuff (180mg)
I was told to take it at night before bedtime with a glass of milk. I did so last night for the first time and all night I lingered in that asleep but not all the way asleep stage.
Did anyone else have this problem, or is it just me!
and if you did when did it go away

It's been so long since I took that stuff, I couldn't tell ya.  All I remember is "space-cadet" syndrome, and constipation.  lol.  Now, where's my damn money?

In cycle I take 480 mg/day. 240 in the AM, and 240 at dinner time.  Never heard of taking it at night with milk. Never have had your side effect. (or constipation - lithium solves that problem.)

Perhaps you are just acclimating to the medicine?

I took the stuff for a couple of weeks and it dropped my blood pressure dangerously low so I had to quit taking it.  I was actually sleepy and confused while on it...but that's how I usually act anyway!   laugh

good luck

I just started with the verap this month.  So far, I take mine in the morning, 360mg.  No probs so far, nobody has said I'm dopier than usual.  Might alter the schedule when I go back in two weeks, but then I'm on the way out of a this bout.  Been getting PF days, first since Oct.  See if the verap works for you, and at what dose.  I lost LOTS of sleep without an effective preventative.

Get some damn sleep.

Best to you.

Hi Gena,
Took verap for a while, did lower my bp, didn't do squat for ch. No sleep probs while on it tho. The dose you're taking does seem a bit lower than most chers are taking.
