New Doctor appointment today, So happy!

So I had my appointment today.
I was not sure what to expect. I have been on inderal and demerol for years now.
Heh where to start. Well first off he made me toss all me demerol out in his office, told me to NEVER take them again 
I am now on Verapamil, starting at 160mg's a day and working my way up too 320 in a week or so. I do have to go for an EKG tomorrow and bring the results to him but that is no big deal.
We then spoke about imitrix and zomig, and insurance, I told them they only allow me 10 a month then the rest are on me..
To which he responded with, I think we can help with that.
He gave me 16 injections and 4 nasal sprays. All free. Said I could come back if I ran out cause he is always getting them.
I also got a script for o2, the tank should be here sometime this afternoon 
oh and a nasal spray of zomig (going through the care kit he packed me now LOL)
So I sit here typing this almost in tears, I don't think i've ever been this confident in a doctor before, He seems to know what he is talking about. The first words out of his mouth were, Have you tried oxygen yet ?
So yeah, I am happy, and funny enough no CH yet today, i've had one everyday now for the last 2 weeks, just a few shadows which i'm OK with.

Its great that you'll be getting some relief (and have a diagnosis right?)..
Just a word .. noticed here you are getting Imitrex AND Zomig.. if I remember correctly, there was a repeated warning here.. : DO NOT MIX TRIPTANS. A couple of scary incidents here related to that warning - did your doctor mention anything about that? How far apart if you should happen to dose with either within hours or less of eachother, anything like that?
I'm sure someone here can spell it out more specifically, I just thought I'd mention it in case no one else does. Its bad enough to have to deal with your HA, no sense in adding danger to the mix.

That's great news John.
Nothing better than when you FINALLY find a doc that knows what he's talking about. Sounds like you're well armed and ready to do battle so kick that beast right in the nuts next time he comes calling.
Hoping this is the begining of the end for you.

Really nice to have a doctor that understands!! Sounds like you have gotten the works. You might want to check on the Zomig and Imitrex in combination?

I too had a good excperience at the docs this week.
I dont think that in the four and a half years Ive been posting here that I ever saw two people have great results with their doc in one week.

You have a doc with some brains so stick with him. Also what he's prescribed is right on for now.

YES!!
Thanks for posting. Doc visits don't always turn out for what is best, for some. This sounds like a real good right turn. The ammo sounds better. Like to hear of the GOOD doc visits, and this sounds GOOD.
Hope the transition to new meds goes well.
