CH.com Community Action Project (?)

Okay, here it goes. Why don't we band together as a Community & get those in the CH Family that are unemployed (laid off, "downsized", etc...) back to work? Strength in numbers kind of thing. There has got to be someone, or someone who knows someone in each unemployed persons area that might have a lead or know someone (friend, relative, spouse,etc..) that might know of openings. There could be an associate in one part of the country that knows a person in another part of the country(in that particular CHer's area) that knows of a great job available. Why not use the CH Family as another resource? Makes sense to me. So, if anyone knows of openings, future openings, or just info on the job market in general......why not post them here? Or somehow, set up an information exchange through IM/PM's. I don't know, just throwing out ideas here. A person might list/share the area, job description, salary, job requirements of positions that they hear of that are available. Also, the folks that need that info.... listing their skills, strengths, experience, job/position that they are seeking & the area they (the job seeker) are in. I think the modern term for it is Networking. Something like that. What say you CH Family? You never know, one of the CH Family or there employer just might be looking to fill a void/opening that another CH Family member could fill. It's an idea I just came up with (at 3:00 am, I might as well be doing something constructive). Thought it might be worth a shot. Thought it might warrant a post. Good luck to all job seekers &...... May The Pain Free Force Be With You! *If someone has a better idea how this could work, by all means, run with it. Thank you for your time. All help in this matter is appreciated. Thank you. Edit: The more people working, a higher Convention attendance (hopefully).

This sounds like a worthwhile project. Why not put a plan together and submit it to the BOD of OUCH. Let's see where it leads.... Hugs BD

KOP, That is a great idea ! I know that some here are self employed. Could be they could put a brother to work Someone posted a while back about being self employed and suggested that some resources could be shared. Talked about whatever trades they could farm out to other CHer's. In other words, if a brother was talented in a specific trade or field....that if and when he needed that type work done...he would do business with his brother CHer. Can't remember who that was...but am certain a post was done and the heading of the post was related to the topic. According to the business board.....we have several CHer's self employed. This will be great...if the geographical location is not a problem. PF vibes, Jean

There hiring for the company i work for. Adding a third shift to all departments. This is very unusual since we produce electrical transformers and it should be our slow time of the year. www.ermco.eci.com Neal

Thank you Barbara D, Cerberus/Ramon, TxBasslady/Jean, & tiredofclusters/Neal for your replies. Again, thanks to you Jean & Neal. Appreciate the info on behalf of the job seeking folks out there. Sure wish my idea had more response/results than it has. Oh well. I tried.

KOP, It's a great idea and I admire your initiative and desire to help other. However, I think a threaded board like this coud get a bit cluttered and difficult to for job seekers and posters to locate 'a match'. I am in the final stages of 2 designs of a 'job board' and hope to have the URL's posted here by Monday for the gangs review. Peace Bro, -dan

" However, I think a threaded board like this coud get a bit cluttered and difficult to for job seekers and posters to locate 'a match' " I agree. There is a way to get this done & it sounds like you have it. Excellent Dan. I was hoping someone could catch this attempted touchdown pass. As i said (in initial thread), run with it. Score Brother, score! Whatever you can do to assist those now "employment challenged" will be of great help. Thank you so much. I look forward to your results. I do appreciate you looking out for the family, someone has to. No job means: No income Mega stress Possible beast visits increase Family chaos Day to day chaos No bills $ No insurance No meds $ No O2 $ No Convention No meet & greet No security Well, alot of No's BTW people......think you could help a Brother out? Give Dan some backing on his HSS & CBS threads(please). We will not get anywhere living in apathyland! Thanks again Dan.
