Well, that didn't work. :-(

Hi guys! Hope everyone is doing well. A little update: Ken's done with the Prednisone and the beast is back. He was PF for the first 5 days that he was on it. Got hit 3 times last night and once the night before. Took the max already of the Imitrex spray. He can't have anymore until 8PM tonight. Guess it was the Prednisone that was working. The Dr. called him and told him that she is NOT putting him on short term prednisone and that the Indomethacin takes about 2 months to get into the system. Needless to say, today I shall do the deed and fire her because she will NOT give him an O2 script, but she insists on him going to the ER everytime he gets a headache. I've already explained to her how that's pointless, but I guess all she cares about is the 200 dollar office visit that she will get the more he has to see her..I'm not letting that happen. So, today I'm going to fire her and see if I can get an appointment with a headache specialist in the same group. This sucks!!!!!! I am thankful though that he had 6 days off from the beast, but I just wish it would go away!!!! Sorry, very frustrated right now. Wish us luck! Much love, Toni

Make sure he drinks a cup of black coffee after the Imitrex and use the Imitrex tip to the left to extend 1 shot to 2 or 3. Most here have overdosed on imitrex with no ill effects. I think some of the crazy restrictions are because too much Imitrex can make migraines worse. There is little in the way of studies on CH and Imitrex. I would have him try Melatonin soon, I use the non time released, ( all I can get ) and I take 12mg a night. try to get the 1mg pills and start at 6 and work your way up until it starts working. Thanks guys! I'm planning on doing the deed today in a non invasive way though. I'm just going to schedule him with another neuro in the same office. If I get going with her, God only knows how many restraining orders I will have slapped on me! I'm really fired up over her and her stupid scripts and treatment. Thanks for the support though! Much love, Toni

Hi Toni, Indomethacin is not going to work on CH. Maybe in two months the cycle would have been over anyway. Your right to find another doctor that is up to date on CH. Good luck, John

Keep us posted Toni! Finding a Neuro that will work with you, and treat your husband with respect is of utmost importance. Too many Dr's these days have that God complex, and you're only supposed to obey in wonderment at their awesome powers. Fire her! I'd even tell her why! Regards, Brad

I tried indomethacin and in 3 days, count them, 3 days I was pain free. NOT 2 months. It worked and kept me pain free for 5 months and then it quit working. I am chronic so it wasn't just my cycle quiting either.

Go Toni go. Any doc today that refuses to script O2 for a clusterhead doesn't know squat about clusters. It's time to move on and find someone that can at least do some research into clusters and see what works. O2 is at the top of the list of abortives. Keep us posted on how you make out. Kip

Ma Vaffanculo!!!!! We are lucky ! Not enough to have CH, we also have to fight against doctors ( doctors ) who don’t care about the health of patients. Go and fire the doctor! Good luck.... there will be a solution! I'm sorry...... Zaira
