I'm so upset

in a cycle that stated 17 days ago, about avergae pain wise...it's been 3 days PF so I arrogantly assumed they were done; even though for me the cycles usually last 5/6 weeks. So I treated myself to a beer last night and thought they were behind me for a few years. One hour later the CH gods punished my arrogance, out of nowhere a 9...culminated by violent vomiting just like the old days. I can't remember ever sweating like I did last night; I play squash and even a game when it's hot and humid doesnt cause perspiration like a good old CH. I promise to never, ever, EVER assume that the cycle is over before at least a month. These things don't bother visiting unless they instill horror for at least that long. Rob

These things suck, don't they? Can't blame you for wanting a little fun...just keep a good attitude, better days are ahead!

Grin and bear it Tom? Like hell I will. These things HURT. Bear it I must but you ain't gonna get any grins from me. Period. To quote my favorite Texas lady, Barb D, while enroute to the very first clusterhead gettogether in Rochester, NY and stuck in Chicago, "Get away from me or I will hurt you.". Kip

Yeah and I had the "cane" to do it too. The stupid woman offered me an ASPIRIN!!!! Rob, ya gotta laugh at yourself - it's the only way we survive. The deal Kip is talking about made me a day late for the first meet and greet in Rochester. When I called them to tell them WHY (all planes were grounded in Chicago) and told them what I had gone thru - they laughed at me. Before I hung up I was laughing right along with them. They UNDERSTOOD how bad it had been, but still were wise enough to crack jokes and keep me from killing someone. Think I had scared half the airport with that headache. Hang in there - enjoy the good times and get thru the bad. Hugs BD

Thats a funny story! Yes I agree about the laughter part- sometimes even during an attack I try to see the lunacy of the situation, although I am sure you will understand comedy isn't exactly what's on my mind at the time. Also during an attack I think to myself if I ever, EVER, caomplain about anything while I am PF I should be ashamed of myself...and yet of course when I am PF I revert to the spoiled brat that I have been all my life...

i hear ya rob! i was full of arrogance too...4 days and glorious PF nights! i drove my hubby home from an MRI sat night and BLAM! right there on the freeway in get smacked. fortunately it wasnt worse then a 6 so i just didnt move my eyes at all and breathed deep as i could and talked quietly to hubby with the wind blasting in from both windows (it was 34 degrees) i killed the little bastard in 13 minutes! didnt even make it to the next exit to take a snort of that yummy nose inhaler. all of a sudden it was gone...my hubby is amazed at how these things work. i will continue to bully the hell out of them as long as they bully me. especially since i STILL dont have the override from tri care to get meds...i am using sparingly and using LOTS of oxygen. walks 30 mins before bed and no smoking after the walk. it seems to be helping. im PF since that little uprising saturday! shadows run amok but i refuse to be afraid of em at the moment. dont worry..im not always this perky...its a good day...lol good luck and lots of PF days and nights to you! bobbi

O"Hare airport now does security checks for anything that goes boom, sharp pointy things, and anything related to CH. The boom things they defuse. The pointy things they take away. If ya got CH you are immediately surrounded by large state police canines.
