I have a question

Hi,

I have a question.  When you get a CH, is it usually on the same pain scale as the rest or do they progressively get worse?

I'm asking because Ken has gotten 4 headaches within the last 2 days and usually he's pretty good about taking the pain, but in the last few he's been experiencing more pain than usual.

Oh, and MRI came back normal, thank God, but I think I said that already.

I wish you had a chat room, because I want to just suffocate myself with information on how to get help for him, all of you and fix the damn insurance companies that tease you guys!

This sucks.

I'm going to go on AIM and ICQ. If anyone would like to chat with me about this, that would be great. I need to help my husband.

AIM - krocksvixen
ICQ - 6961257 (Ultimate)

Thanks,
Toni

Hi Toni, after reading your post I'm thinking to myself......... four months ago I fell over a sharp speaker while sleep walking, broke four ribs and tore loose all kinds of stuff, had to sleep sitting up for a month but I handled it. Three weeks age got up in the middle of the night to take a leek and wham broke two toe's, had to walk like Chester in Gunsmoke for two weeks but I handled it. Been getting these cluster headaches for twenty some odd years now, there ain't now way to handle a cluster headache without some kind of medication ( my apologies to Charlie ). So read this board and the OUCH board, then look up Charlie and the chat folks.

Hi Toni,
Just got done chatting  with you in the hsg chatroom and want to clear up regarding the dangers of O2. While it's true O2 can saturate your clothing, etc, I've been huffing it for 20 years or so and the first thing I want after a session is a smoke. O2 is not explosive, it's an oxidizer that supports combustion. My wife uses O2 for shortness of breath with an O2 generator at 3 lpm and a nasal canula. She is also a smoker and often forgets she is on it and lights up. So far, she has not made an ash of herself.  Smiley
Again, it must be used correctly. 10 lpm, full face non-rebreather mask for 10 to 15 minutes. You have to start it before the ch becomes full blown for the best effect tho I have been able to abort a 10 sometimes. Cold also helps some. My son, also a cher, tried sticking his face in the freezer and got some releif tho his wife thought he had lost it. I've rigged up a chiller to cool my O2 that has made it more effective. It doesn't work for everyone but it's worth trying.
good luck and pf for Ted.
Kip
